On the weekends, I might be (during the week work ruins it) ... which reminds me, any good suggestions for late-night places to write?

From 12am - 2am last year we chatted. You could check the chat and see if people are around! Although, I don't know if I can do that again this year. I was exhausted all the time.

I think there are some places for late night writing, problem is, how do you get home if you don't have a vehicle?

Fran's comes to mind, of course. Er... hospital waiting rooms?

Food courts work, if you have a plan to subdue the mall security guard.

I'm usually a nighthawk. :-)

My guess will be the Fran's that's around the corner from my house, but I'm not sure where else might work. Coffee shops? The ones that are 24 hours tend to be a little sketchy, unfortunately.

Oh noes... it's the dreaded late night thread!

I'm definitely going to be on this one and the chat late at night in the upcoming weeks... I get off work 10pm or later (I work in a restaurant 4-5 nights a week) and I'll hopefully be getting some writing done in the wee hours of the morning.

On weekends you'll probably see me here. Have to convince my mum to let me stay up on November weekends. =.=" It's a pain to be a kid. *sigh*

I will probably lurk this thread a lot but you may find yourself confused since it will be more like early evening for you.

Fran's isn't such a great place to write. It's okay, but they don't really like people sticking around for too long, for some reason. I don't see why, unless it's a Friday - Saturday night they don't get THAT busy.

As for getting home, just keep writing until morning. ;)

I'd rather be a morning person, but I can do either.

These days, out of necessity and a job I love, I'm a night person :P

I guess all these people writing about vampires necessitates the all-night and late-night thing..to get into the character of the writing :-)
I usually die about midnight..unless there's a really great party or really great music :-)

Well for the most part I am a late nite owl - though I am trying for work sake to maintain somewhat decent hours - Not sure how Nano is going to work for me this year - I QUIT SMOKING - it was the smokes and coffee that kept me up to all hours.

::sigh:: I work in a 24/7 environment so mgmt meetings start at 7 am. And then I put in a day's work. Then I'm still there ...

So I get hit at both ends.

The full grief of the thing is I HATE it when I go to and from work in the dark. I swear ... I don't know how vampires STAND it ...

: )

Cheers!

my, the night is still too young. i used to have jam sessions at the 24hr Timmies in my area. it`s great for getting work done and the staff don`t care as long as there`s gun fodder between them and the muggers. just jokes.

hee! in 2005 (i think?) i finished my novel in the 24-hour timmies at college park, at some ungodly hour in the AM. this was the tail end of our all-night writing session that year.

Naaaw, my muse wakes up after midnight.

Plus, my temporary job will be over in a couple weeks. I expect to be up late constantly. :o
(And I expect everyone to make sure I'm writing.) :D

My muse has this irritating habit of ignoring me all dang day and then as soon as I am about to drift off into LALAland it decides that it is an appropriate time to kick into high gear.

Needless to say I have learned to sleep with a pen and paper within arms reach.
