I guess Violet and Dani are still working out the details for the kick-off party. But we'd discussed having a casual get-together the weekend before, at somewhere like Joshua Cup. It'd be a great way to meet and re-meet people and bring any newbies more gently into the group.

I think the tentative date for this was Saturday, October 25. How does that sound?

oct 25 @ j-cup is an awesome idea! i haven't been there in forever...I'll scope it out today or wed and let you know if it still looks the same. (i know they added a sandwich area - which took away from seating).

October 25th is sadly a no-go for the gleefulpagan and her newbie sidekicks, Kitty_Kat and goldfish_bubbles.
That is the date of the goldfish's State Cross Country meet, the last one of the season. But we'll be there in spirit.
gleep.

It's still essentially the same. The sandwich area took over the bar area by the window, to the right when you come in. and the sandwiches, by the way? Stellar.

Yes, your MLs have been having trouble getting together for a meeting of the minds, but we've got stuff in the works. Both of us had busy weekends that took us away from nano duties!

We were planning on offering up a pre-nano get together as it was for that weekend and I think that sounds great Miri :)

A pre-Nano get together sounds great. Redtarget and I will have to discuss it and find out where it is in Macon. Let us know the time and we'll try to make it :) Also, is it on Zebulon Rd. or on Washington Avenue?

Typically we go to the Washington Ave. one because it's more centralized. I think the Zebulon one closed anyway?

I'm in talks with the guy who runs JC, trying to possibly rent the back room for that date - so keep it free, but don't make any specific plans for timing yet!

Does anyone have a time in mind for the meet-up at Joshua's Cup on the 25th, if we stay on the plan? That way the hubby and I can make sure we have our schedules cleared.

Anytime should be fine with me, although late afternoons tend to be bad because Elisabeth naps from around 2-5, and gets a bit wild if she doesn't nap. However, if Nathan's off of work (I won't know until that Friday, probably) i'll be able to leave Elisabeth with him, and it won't matter what time. :)

Redtarget and I will be able to make it either evening, afternoon or early afternoon; the whole day is open for us. We will just have to find it since we are not as familiar with downtown Macon or the parking.

Which direction would you be coming from? 75 N or S? 247? I can help with specific directions from 75 south or 247.

And there's also a map linked from the google calendar (you can see the link from the main georgia :: macon forum page) if you'd like to figure out your own route :)

It's no problem, we will find it. We just go to Warner Robins more often for stuff such as doctors and all. We'll Google it. Taking the Interstate will be going out of our way, we will come through Roberta, and then Eisenhower then to downtown that way. Thanks though :)

We'll miss you. But you'd better try and come to some meetings! (And I can't stop laughing at your novel title)

Hmmm... I'd love to make it to the pre-gathering, but I'm not sure yet, I've been needing to go to Macon to get some shopping done, as well as I've been wanting to check out Macon's new Venue for 'shows'.
I've never been to Joshua Cup, I don't spend much time in the downtown area of macon, but I'd love to scope it out. Bet there are some great photo ops around there.
Whether or not I can make it, I hope you guys have fun!

Happy writing!

I'm sorry I didn't get to go - I love JC! I was out of town this weekend and violently ill all last week though. :( But I'm always up for any write-ins or gatherings there, in the future!
