Serious Coffee is happy to have us again (yay!) BUT they'd like it to be evening.

I'm leaning to Thursday night (6 pm+) since they want it mon-thurs, and the latter is closest to sunday.

Toss stuff here if it doesn't work for ya.

With luck we'll get people who can't make Sunday at all (and not the afternoon) as well.

OK so I was just there (At Serious Coffee in James Bay) and didn't see anybody. I think one of us needs to make a sign to stick on the table (I volunteer!) simply because some of us don't know everyone yet and are too shy to ask random strangers "Hey are you from NaNoWriMo?"

And if it actually was that no one was there then the least people could do when the arrange something is show up so other people don't have to waste time and money and look like an idiot in front of the Serious Coffee girl.

So yeah I feel completely stupid and I'm not impressed with not finding anyone. I feel like I stayed up late for nothing because I was finishing a shirt I was sewing instead of writing because I needed something to wear to a meeting I endedup not being able to attend.

Switching Plots

Okay, so my NaNo is complete and utter drivel so far. I have no idea where it is going, no conflict has shown up yet even though I keep trying to introduce it. Is it legitimate to switch novels part way through and still use what I've writen as part of my word count?

A Year without Cowardice

I am considering a related personal (possibly shared) goal for between NaNoWriMos.

NaNoWriMo is teaching us to write without fear and without our inner editor but it is doing that with the wink that all we do is not for any real audience. In the interest of taking the next step, I ponder aloud and propose the following:

Immediately following NaNoWriMo, one undertakes a new novel. There will be one month of planning, outlining, character sketching, researching, and tuning the idea.

On January 1st, one commences to write. Only 15000 words are required each month but these must be words of quality.
For five months, achieve the 15,000 word goal and finish up at the beginning of June with a 75,000 word First Draft of a finished novel. A novel that you can be proud of.

The next two months (June& July) are spent editting that first draft to create a second draft. Within those two months, the second draft must also be given to two friends/editors that you trust to read it. Beach reading!

You then have two months (August & September) to go over it all again, with the assistance of editor comments, and produce a finished novel.

Now comes the tough part...

In October, a friend must name two publishers. You must name two others. The novel MUST be sent out in that month to those four publishers for consideration.

* due to the surprisingly small attendance last time, this time they are setting it up for 10. They can have more coffee, etc. ready if more show, it will just take time to make. This also saves on paying money for people who do not show , which had to happen last time.
