To All Y'All,
I am announcing the Third Annual Ballston Mall Food Court Write-Ins sponsored by the quickly becoming Infamous BEAJAY -- The Wordsmith Wannabe.
These Write-Ins will be held every Saturday during the month of November in the Food Court of the Ballston Common Mall at the tables sandwiched in between the escalator and Bloom's Grill on the Mickey Dee's side of the Court.
I plan on being there every Saturday in November from approximately 7:30 - 8:00 AM until about 3:00 PM.
To get there go to Ballston Common Mall either by car (on Wilson Boulevard between Randolph Street and Glebe Road), bus (WMATA 22[A,B,&c] line, ART 42 line, WMATA 1[A,B,&c] line), or Metro Rail (Orange Line to the Ballston/MU Metro Stop).
There is a parking garage accessible from both the Randolph Street and the Glebe Road sides of the Mall. Parking costs $1.00 for all day.
If you take the Metro to the Ballston/MU stop, go above ground. Head over to the corner where the IHOP Restaurant is located. Proceed South down Stafford Street, along side the IHOP parking lot. At the end of Stafford Street turn right (West) and go over to Stuart Street. Then turn left (South) on Stuart Street and proceed straight to the Mall.
Once inside the Mall, go to the lowest possible level (The Food Court). Go over to Mickey Dee's (a.k.a. Mc Donald's) and turn right. Proceed down past The Manchu Wok to Bloom's Grill. Turn right, again, and proceed over to the side of the escalator.
We should be right there. If not, sit down and write anyway. You need to increase your word count.
The first year I hosted these Write-Ins, it was, for the most part, me writing my novel by myself. Last year we had about five to ten people per Saturday helping each other to write fantastic tales of great people doing magnificent things. This year we need you to help us do even better. Please, come and bring your family and friends. All Y'All are welcome.

I will not be able to gather my herd and head out to the first write-in, but we should be able to make it to all the other Saturdays and the unofficial meet-up.

OK, I'm willing to try. I have a yoga class in the area from 10.30 - 12, so I am not sure if it will be before or after. We'll have to see what works best.

To All Y'All,
Just in case you were wondering, all y'all are cordially invited to the Unofficial Startup Gathering being held in the Food Court of the Ballston Common Mall this Friday from 5:00 PM on.
We will be meeting at the tables right behind the Blue River Cafe between Mickey Dee's on one side and Chik-Fil-A on the other side of the Food Court. If you ride the little glass elevator down to the Food Court, the Blue River Cafe is directly in front of you when the doors open.
As a special feature, if those at the gathering are interested, I will be willing to show where, precisely, this weekly write-in will be held each Saturday of the month.

Tomorrow is the first of four of these. I don't check for things on-line, so don't E-Mail, NaNoMail, post to this thread, or whatever that you're coming or not, just do what you need to do. I will be there if there are 100 others or if there are NO others.
Personally, I would be ecstatic if everyone in the No VA Region showed up. However, I know that life is like a beach, and sometimes one gets sand in the shorts. So miss if you must, but know this would be a whole lot better if you could make it.

Gonna hopefully make it out closer to noon for this. Excited to meet y'all who make it since my schedule made it tough to make it to the October events. Goal today is to hit 14K, but hey, if I can get an extra thousand in and hi 15, that'd be just fantastic too. Kind of nervous about that wall I'm supposed to hit soon that I hear about...
Anyway, NJ Devils hat, black hoodie, goatee, walking around looking lost or clicking on a netbook, that's me.

I have failed to keep up with posting how last Saturday went, but it went well. We had a maximum of 4 show up. One left early, and was replaced by one who came late and stayed to the end. The other three were there pretty much the whole time.
All Y'All are welcome. The location, times, directions, &c are at the top of the thread. No need to RSVP, just show up.

Haha likewise. Trying to balance pleasure (watching international soccer) with the obligation associated with pleasure (NaNo) today. Hope to be at Ballston around 10 am-ish for a few hours. Looking forward to seeing some of you there!

Ballston Mall Write-Ins: Weeks Two and Three
WEEK TWO
On November 14 the Ballston group saw the largest number of assembled writers in its three-year history: 11. Writing their hearts out were BeaJay, ShyViolet1, catpet, bjh909, JBMarie and two WeeMos (wee writers), Chris and Keith, and a man and his daughter. (Sorry I missed you, Marie.)
WEEK THREE
Fewer in number but no less dedicated were the six who wrote on November 21: BeaJay, FeedTheTiger, ShyViolet1, catpet, and two writers we hadn't met--tiptoe39 and laura.is.rad. (Now the song "Tiptoe Through the Violets" is running through FeedTheTiger's mind.) Several of us were within 1,000 words of each other (although we were all a little behind). bjh909 was laid low by a flu bug--feel better, buddy! See you next week!
No report is complete without visuals:

WEEK FOUR
Who will join us? You? Great!!!
Your faithful scribe,

Sorry we missed you. Today, my early morning project took four hours instead of two and by the time I was done, I had no energy to go anywhere. Hopefully, we can all make it next weekend.
