Hi All!

Here an introduce yourself thread!

I'm Tirjasdyn aka Michelle. This is my 7th year doing NaNo and my 6th as an ML. I'm a web designer, writer, mom and gamer. I'm also one of those Colorado natives.

Who are you?

Hallo. My name's Emma, and I'm a junior in high school. I moved here from California in 6th grade, and I'm still kind of missing it there. I will admit that the mountains are very pretty though.

This will be my first year doing NaNo, and I'm a bit nervous about balancing it with my schoolwork. For this reason, I may not be able to finish my novel, because with senior year coming up, school comes first.

I have 4 rabbits and a cat.

My name is Mike. Fifth nano this year, four time winner.

This year, I got nuthin. NUTHIN.

No concept. No characters. No head start. Every other time by now I have something at least. Not this time. I wrote a rough draft earlier this year that has been occupying my head. Not sure what I'm going to do. I have considered doing a ground-up rewrite of my rough draft, but something is telling me not to. Maybe a novel set in the past related to that novel, though. Might be fun.

Work is going to be a serious problem this year. I'm worried about my chances for success.

I dunno. We'll see. I always seem to pull it off somehow. Welcome newbies, and good luck everyone!

Hey all, I'm Tom and I hail from Denver. I'm currently a senior at a high school in the burbs. This'll be my fifth Nano and hopefully my third victory (screw those college applications, right?). I didn't really make it to many events last year so I hope to ramp it up this year. In my free/not really free time I enjoy marching band, speech and debate, making origami stuff, learning Swedish, and basically nerding it up on a regular basis. Nice to virtually meet/re-meet some of you.

P.S. Emma, it's awesome to have another HS student here, because we're kind of few and far between.

i'm in high school! i'm anne (or anna, i don't care which), and i'm a senior from littleton. this will be my second year doing nano, and hopefully my second win. i've been killing time until november by doing any other wrimo i can find, so i have very little concrete idea of what i want to do next month. i too will try to attend events this year, as i now have access to a car and the license to drive it. -grins-

tom, you do speech and debate? what event do you do? i'm an fx person, and i used to be ld. we may possibly have run into each other at tournaments. -laughs-

I'm Spleen, aka Robin, one of your friendly co-MLs this year! Feel free to contact me for all your event-planning, question-answering, or encouragement needs. Past Denver WriMos will tell you that I always travel with candy in November.

This is my 6th year doing NaNo. I've won each one of the previous five years, and am determined to make it 6.

Zelthian, you can come sit next to me, because I have no idea what I'm writing yet either. We have a month, right?!

Hey everyone, I'm Kaitlin! Last year was my first year, and I won! I fell completely in love with noveling, even taking an Advanced Fiction Writing class online this summer. It was awesome. I am currently working on a story that I will probably not finish before November, and it will most likely have to go on the back burner until December.

For Nano, I'm planning on banging out a draft of my next story, but I'm not entirely sure which story I'm going to do. (I have several stories swimming around in my head at all times...)

I'm super excited that it's almost November, and really looking forward to being able to go to more events and write-ins this year. Hope to meet some of you next month!

Hello, I'm Anna! I recognize some of you (like Robyn) from the south denver meet ups, I think. I don't know if I'll be able to meet up as much as I did last year, but I hope so. (Its hard since I don't have a car) I'm a junior at CU Denver this year.

I just got my NaNo idea about three hours ago from a dream. That is why it would appear to be so rough. But HELLO! :)

My name's Jessi and this is kind of my first official NaNo? I tried for 2007 and got about 5,000 words, but I didn't really have any idea what I was doing! Last year I was too busy and this year I'm going to really try to keep up and give it a real attempt!

At this point, I have a dozen stories floating around in my head, but I'm not sure which one to focus on! I know the FAQs suggested we start with a clean slate, but if I took one that I had previously started and made a better outline to follow and re-wrote it from the beginning, that would be okay, right? :)

Anyways, mostly I'm looking forward to some fellow writers in the area since I'm still relatively new here. I moved down here from Wyoming and I'm a Nurse working full-time and taking call (here's hoping I find the time to keep up!).

Nice to meet you all - and good luck to all of us!

Hello, I'm Erin.

I participated in nano last year for the first time and won (yay!), and plan on doing so again this year. I'd like to participate in some write-ins this year - is anyone else near longmont or boulder?

Hi Erin! I know we have a group that's met in the past at the Colorado Mills Mall near Golden, and we will probably develop other northwest Denver write-ins.

If you want something a little closer to home, though, you might check out the Longmont/Boulder region--their MLs plan a lot of events and write-ins. They are here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/179

Welcome, and I hope we'll see you around!

Hey all,

I'm Emily Oxford. This will be my first NaNo. I found NaNo last December and was totally bummed. I've been waiting all year to get started. I'd really love to do some meetups in the Littleton/Centennial/HR area. Is it easier to arrange things on here or to set up a MeetUp.com group? I'm really looking forward to getting started. My :one day: is finally here!

Hi Emily, and welcome to NaNo! I recommend you set up meetings through the Regional Forums on the NaNo site--that makes it easier for other WriMos to find the event, and it's free, unlike a MeetUp.com group. We're happy to add any event that you plan to the regional calendar that's featured at the top of the Denver forum.

Last year, we had a write-in at the HR Tattered Cover. If you're interested in attending something like that, I recommend you head over to the South Denver Thread (http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3265230) and throw it out there to see who else might be interested. The MLs are always happy to help with logistics/organizing if you don't want to contact a venue yourself.

Looking forward to seeing you around!

HI

I'm play10 aka Michelle, I won, rather, finished one Nano and participated in four. I am a military wife, this year I got an idea.

I also have a two teenagers, one husband and two full time careers. So it should be an interesting Nano.

I would love to get together with anyone, I always say that and something comes up, but this year I'm determined to be more than an email address.

Take care everyone!!

Hey! I'm Lee, or Leevee, whichever's easier to remember - I'll respond to both! I'm 20 (although I keep thinking I'm 19...), go to school over at Metro (history major, honors, etc), work on-campus at the early learning center (with the 1-3 year olds), and live in Aurora (over near Smoky Hill High School).

This is my... seventh year doing NaNo? I don't know! I've done a bunch of the unofficial ones too, so probably a total of 15 tries... one win. Haaaaaaah. To the surprise of no-one, that one win happened to be the only NaNo when I was on Ritalin. This time around, I've got four history classes and one research class, meaning I'm going to have about fifty papers to write while doing NaNo. WILL HIJINKS ENSUE? Probably.

Heya, I'm Anna Grace (not just Anna, please) or AG. I'm a mom of a four month old, full time rep with T-Mobile (Love, my job!), and wife of a hopeful natural bodybuilder. This is my first NaNoWriMo. I have a tendency to start things and never finish them, but I've dreamed of writing a novel for a long time! If y'all want to add me as a buddy and ride my butt, I sure wouldn't mind!

Hello!

I'm Hideyo, better known as Susan. This is my 3rd nano. I'm a high school student, dancer, and baker (Which is a word. Totally.) I also collect ball jointed dolls, I'm not ashamed to be strange (my Mom is from Boulder). I'm a Colorado naitive, born and raised, and not planning on leaving anytime soon.

Really excited to meet other people who live in the same state/area :D

Anne, I dunno. I previously did HI but I randomly decided to do OO this year--that would certainly be bizarre, though. XD My school is in the Centennial area so I plan to be attending some more of the southern things. Hopefully I'll see you at some meetups!

Hey, my name's Lauren and this will be my second official year of NaNo. I'd love to do meet-ups, but my mom would be pretty skeptical of the idea of her teenage daughter meeting up with random strangers. Although, I would love NaNo friends that share the same love for fantasy and romance as I do.

I'm also a born and raised Colorado native.

Hey everyone, I'm Morgan (I got by so many various names online, Berry-Kitsune, Himeko, Amaya-chan just to name a few) Sophmore in High School, been living in Colorado since I was 2 years old and been doing NaNo since 7th grade and loving it. I'm a dancer, ball jointed doll collector, and (future) gothic lolita. Glad to see so many people in Colorado ^_^

My name is Kitty, and every year I am remiss in keeping up with Denver-area NaNo-related events >.>

I'm a senior in high school, but more often I find myself concentrating on writing more than my schoolwork. Uh... I like writing fanfiction, and being active in fandom has completely killed my ability to post sensibly on these forums. I spend way too much time listening to music, too.

So, uh, hi :D

Hey everybody!!!

My name's Mary-Louise but people just call me Mei (pronounced like May). I'll be trying for the fifth time this year, and fifth time's the charm right? :D

I'm another HS senior, homeschooled, by day and ballet dancer by night. I had a bunch of fun at last year's kickoff party and this year I'm hoping to get to more than just that. Also, actually finishing my novel would be nice. Although seeing as how every year I fly by the seat of my pants, and this year is looking to be no different, I'm taking bets, so if you want to get in on the action, let me know! Also not working in my favor is the Lit class that I'm currently taking at DU.

Hello!

I'm Virginia, I just recently moved to Denver (Arvada, specifically). I'm 29, do web design/development and art, and this will be my 2nd year doing Nanowrimo. I'm still struggling with getting something to write about! Last year, I did a "Choose your own adventure" style book, and I may get lured back into doing another one, as it was quite entertaining to write.

Good Morning all!

My name is Sherrill, like the Sherrelles....wait, most of you aren't old enough to remember t hem....well it rhymes with bell. Anyhow, i'm 44 and t his is my fifth nano with 4 wins under my belt. Some of them have been easy and one was like pulling teeth! I don't have an idea yet this year, really, and am kind of sitting outside of myself wondering what I'll do. I do have a 6,000 word short story I could expand on, but would that be cheating? If i didn't count the 6,000 words?

And I have a question.....I want to put in some sort of links from a table of contents to the chapter headings so I don't have to scroll down every time I write. Anybody know an easy way to do this?

Looking forward to the overcaffinated mayhem about to begin!

Sherrill

Hrm....You can do a table of contents in Word if you give each section a title. I haven't used it in years though so I'm not sure I remember how.

I just use ywriter. :D
