Why am I going to lose my sanity? For the same reason that most people here are - I don't have the issue of not having a plot. I have too many of them.

Back in July, I had an idea for a NaNo and decided that's what I was going to do. It was a major, MAJOR rewrite of a story I had started many years ago, and have always wanted to redo everything in the story (even right down to changing the characters). Then came the idea to do a fan fiction I've been itching to write for a while. Nano would be the perfect time to do that, right? On Tuesday, two more hit. One is another I've been itching to do for a really long time - I have about half a billion ideas for this story and I KNOW it would be easy to get through (and I would love writing it). The other is similar (in fact, it deals with the same people), and would be the sequel to the current novel I'm giving my all to.

Part of me really just wants to go with writing the story about Jamie and Tenshi (the story I have a billion ideas for), because I know I could finish it. It would be different for me, because I've most certainly never written a story about a gay couple before in my LIFE. But the evil half of me is like "Noooo! It would be too easy, and you'll get bored half-way through!" A fourth of me wants to write this sequel, and the adventurous fourth wants me to do the war novel.

Um. . HELP?! What sounds like it might be the best to do? Do I need to describe plots? Should I just pick one out of a hat?

Please ignore the random fractions in here. There is a reason I failed math :)

You could leave it up to everyone else, put the options in the polling booth and let them decide for you. I've done that in the past and actually have made a habit out of letting others decide what I'm writing. Works rather nicely because people will tell you why they like one story over another and sometimes offer some interesting ideas.

Or you could sit on it for a little while. We have a whole month, your favourite story out of the lot might be more obvious in a little while. Maybe in a week or two you'll know which one you really want to write.

Which is a great way of doing that, and it might come down to that. . . the only problem that I have is that I HAVE to plan for NaNo. I tried to just go by the seat of my pants last year and it was the worst year I've ever had with the story. I hated it. And for all of these stories, I have to do a ton of research so . . I kinda need to figure it out by the end of next week xD

Then is there some way to merge a couple of the stories together? Maybe have the war building in the background and have that one step into the plot as a twist once you think you're getting bored of the main story?

Sadly, not really.

Although, two of the stories are related to one another, although they're two separate stories. For example, one is the sequel to my novel, Hindsight. It's about Kouji, the main my main girl character will end up falling in love with and marrying by the end of the novel. The side story to that (the one that I'm probably going to end up going with ) is about Kouji's father. I might just . .end up doing them both. And when i reach week two, see which one willd rive me to the finish line.

Sanity is greatly overrated. I find that my more insane fascinations and imaginations are what leads to my better writing. Embrace it (I did), sadly right now I'm more sane than insane so the writer's block exists. Maybe that's why I have it? Hmm.
