Greetings one and all!

If you are in PG or any of the surrounding areas this is where we will be posting about events going on here in our lovely town throughout the month of November.

As it stands right now, there will be a get together on each Sunday throughout the month at the Prince George Public Library (times to be posted when I have them!)

We will have guest speakers as well as coffee/ tea and snacks! Also, the first Sunday of December will be a celebration/thank heaven it's over!

;)

If you have any questions or comments, please just post here or message me!

I'm in Vanderhoof, too! Born and raised in PG though, so I will try. This is my first NaNoWriMo and I'm kind of excited. I have another novel that I started when I was on mat leave in '07 that I plug away at. I am going to ignore it completely in November in favour of something fresh and fun.

Looking forward to this! :)

Very cool that there are two of you from Vanderhoof, and of course, if you can make it, great! If not, we are still here to support you!

This will be my fourth NaNo year and I am really excited about it as well!

:D

I'm in PG! Sunday's don't work for me though - I think it would be terribly scary meeting up with people anyway. =P It's super cool knowing that there are WriMo's in Prince George!

I'm roughly in the Prince George area, about an hour out of town to the northwest. Not sure I'll be able to make it to library, depends on what time of day the meetings happen. Later afternoon would improve my chances.

This is my first NaNo year, it's good to know I'm not the only one around here.

Nionel - I am only really scary on Tuesdays... Sundays are generally pretty safe.
;)

But really, it is too bad that Sundays are a bad day for you - I find that it is always nice to get together with other Wrimo's to see how their novels are progressing - and to be able to have it at the library makes it a very safe event!

Everyone: As to the time - I am pretty sure that it will be in the afternoon, I am still unsure of that (I will try to send off an email to the coordinator today).

I am still very excited for this - it should be a good month of writing and guest speakers and that sort of thing!

If anyone has any further suggestions, please let me know asap and we will see what we can do.

:D

Hi Everyone!

I'm the Teen Librarian at the Prince George Public Library and the gal that's organizing the NaNoWriMo events here at the library. The two major events are of course the Kickoff and T.G.I.O. party (in early December), and the rest of the Sundays are designed to provide a space where Wrimos in PG and surrounding areas can gather together and write, share, talk, and otherwise commiserate with their fellow writers :)

I've *just* posted the dates and times up on our events listing on our website: http://www.lib.pg.bc.ca/events#events

I hope everyone can make it, and my apologies to those who can't make it on Sundays :( Hopefully we will see you next year!

If you have any questions about the library-hosted events, please feel free to email me at adawley@lib.pg.bc.ca.

Good luck this year :D

Hi neighbours,

I will follow this forum during the month of November, but maybe not post so much. Obviously I want to spend my time writing.

I'll be at the library for the Sunday get-togethers.

Hello! I'm in PG and I'm so excited there's other people in the area doing NaNo! I moved here a few months ago and still don't know very many people. I'll try to make it to the Sunday sessions! This is my first NaNo year with a laptop, so I'm looking forward to writing 'on location.'

I think this is my sixth or seventh year participating in NaNoWriMo, although I've only 'won' a couple of times. Maybe the sixth or seventh time is the charm!

Hi folks! This will be my second year doing nano and I'm looking forward to it. I didn't 'win' last year but I chalk it up to being busy with school. I'm done school now and excited to get writing.

I will be at the opening write-in on the 1st and as many subsequent meetings as I can.

See you all there!

Mark

Cran - most defnitely! Everyone needs some craziness- best thing that I ever did was go wandering around Europe for a year and a half

As to everyone else who has just written- I am SO excited to see so many people interested in NaNo and here in town! This is going to be a great event!

I am excited to meet everyone - I will be there each Sunday to chat and hang out - and write! Don't be shy - especially if you are new to NaNo or new to town, this will be a great opportunity to meet people who are not only interested in something that you are, but who are also just as crazy as you are for attemptingf to write the 50,000 words in one month.

:D

Just a few more days - I can't wait!

Ash- after driving across the entire country this spring which was WAY cool!! My S/O was the passenger the whole trip incredibly freeing and a ton of fun (even though the van broke down in Ontario and the pick up in Sask!) I want to travel more but going to do some more in Canada before I go elsewhere- saw a ton of things I want to revisit when I have the time.

Good luck everyone!!

My Nano starts in 3 hours....heheh *grins*

I can't/didn't make it to the kick-off either... couldn't get a baby-sitter! Next week I'm out of town. I might be able to join in the Sunday after that, but I'll following all your progress anyway, regardless of whether I show up or not! Good luck! I'm refraining from starting until my kids are in bed and last night I was just too tired... so I'm still sitting at 0! :)
