Okay enough of that - hey Tasmanians!

I hope to at least try to meet more of you this year. Perhaps a casual get-together some time? At any rate let us all know what you're writing and how you have done in Nano in the past.

As for me, I write just for fun - have done it 3 years in a row and won even though nothing really becomes of my idiotic drivel. I just enjoy it.

How is everyone this year? Excited?!

Heyo, fellow Tasmanian :3

I'm from the south of the state, going to Polytechnic/TAFE and doing a Business Admin course. A get-together sounds like fun. I'm always interested in meeting new people, which is part of the reason why I go to conventions :3

First time doing NaNo (last year doesn't count since I barely did anything). I've got a writing playlist ready on my iTunes, and I'm really excited.

Hey, another Tasmanian here :) From the south of the state and I would love to get together with some other NaNoers this November, hopefully for write-ins or whatever :)

Anyway, this is my second year doing NaNo. Last year I won and it was great, although I haven't finished editing yet despite wanting to have finished it before November this year.. But this year I'm planning on trying for 100k again, although I have my exams during November which could be a bit of a pain..

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyy, good luck to everyone this year and we'll definitely try for some writeins this year :D

Ha, I've been saying that this year. And last. And possibly the year before.

Gah. It's too hard concentrating on finishing a project when there's something fresh and new waiting.

Hiya thanks for responding - myself and my brother when he bothers to respond would be interested in a meet n eat or whatever but I personally don't really do write-ins but would be happy to provide some snacks if my brother goes to one. I'm a pretty solitary writer - just because I don't tend to function unless my favourite song is blasting away and nobody is looking over my shoulder :)

My brother has a funky synopsis I hope he responds as well. *glares at Wrageowrapper*

Anyway I look forward to keeping in touch, what genre is everyone doing?

Yeah, keep ya pants on woman.
Hello fellow Taswegians, hope you all get to writing some great nanos this year.

Some form of meet thingy would be cool as well. Just to see who else in this state is insane enough to do this.

I haven't had your brownies in AAAAAGES D: Screenings just aren't the same without you and them! And I'm the only one of the club doing NaNo this year, sadly. Saiyako usually does it but she's got exams during Novemeber :/

Spooty exams, it's a tough time of year for most Aussie nano-ers I guess we all have our exams on about November. Even when you start work it still difficult the only time I get to write is at night, and often times I'm mentally exhausted or just plain too tired physically. Bleeeeeh I still manage though, usually by catching up on weekends. ^__^

I think I might actually agree with the just get-togethers, I know I don't write very well at school so I doubt I'd be able to write very well at a write-in.. So something else might be fun :)

I'm another person with exams in November which I'm not looking forward to but I'll survive :)

Hello!!

Another Tassie girl here! I'm in the North-West, this is my second year of doing NaNo - just scraped over the line last year with 50,172 words (or thereabouts...). Aiming for a few more this year with a horror novel - not what I usually write, so I'll see how it goes! :)

Hi everyone! I'm from Launceston, and would dearly like to meet someone else doing this in person.

This is my third year, I sort-of won in '07 (hit the count but lost the novel when my laptop committed seppuku), won properly last year, and I'm determined to win again this year. I normally write straight fantasy, but this year I'm branching into Fantasy/Steampunk. It's fun.

That'd be me, I guess. There was at least someone else posting last year and no doubt some more will turn up in the next couple of weeks.

Yes usually there are a few from the north and north west/east that pop up during the last few weeks of October as the reminders go out, hopefully enough for a north meeting too ^__^

Fantastic, there ARE other Taswegians in Nano :D

I'm Mykal, 18, female, from the North-West of Tassie, and have FINALLY decided to give NaNo a go :D I CAN NOT WAIT until the 1st because I have my story entirely planned (and have done for years; this 30 days might just be the scary timeframe I need to get it OUT) and I just want to write it. Now. But I can't because that would be cheating. *bounce*

Heyo, another Hobartian here.
Fourth year in NaNo. It's never really gone anywhere, but I always get so excited and spring into it at the beginning of November with glee. [If only I could keep the glee going. ;_;]

Hey guys =)

ima from Launceston...THE BEST PLACE IN ALL OF TASMANIA...well I don't know that for sure since I've never really been anywhere else...only Hobart for a couple of weekends...but anyway...this is my first year doing nanowrimo...i'm sorta nervous and feel as if I'm super CRAZY for taking this on. I'm only 16 so I have grade 10 exams and a whole heap of homework I'm supposed to do as well. Not only that...I want to get dux at the end of the year and so I'll be cramming in as much studying as I can while trying to write 50 000 words...so not a good idea. Oh well...I'm REALLY excited...

annnd good lucksies to everyone...may the best man win...or best writers win =D

Hey, fellow Launcestonian here! Ah yes, the time of year known as 'oh crap, here come the exams!' I'm more in an 'oh crap, here come the practicals' state, but I know what you're going through.

We'll have to get together for a mutual panic attack at some point.

It is wonderful to see that NaNo has reached Tasmania/Launceston! I'm actually a yank who has moved over, and it's been a somewhat disheartening that every person I've talked to has never heard of NaNoWriMo.

Usually I have a rough idea of the plot of my novel, but this year, I'm going to try to do what my best friend does: write and write and write and develop some nonsensical, disjointed patchwork of story. She has won the past 5 years that way. I've attempted the 50k 4 years running now, but I have yet to win. Here's hoping.

Another southern Tasmanian here. This is my fifth NaNo and promises to be my craziest yet - I have a selection of ridiculous ideas for what I might be writing and no idea which one I'll go with, a thesis to submit at the beginning of November and a conference to attend at the end - as well as either starting a job at the end of the month or needing to job-hunt all through the month.

Would love to meet a few local people during NaNo if the opportunity presents itself, although I'm more of a solitary writer too. I need the space to laugh my butt off at whatever ridiculous thing I've just written or to go estimate what it's like to crawl through a forest on elbows and knees, as the story dictates. ;)

Another first timer here. Also from southern Tassie.

Not sure how I'm going to manage with 3 kids at home, but looking forward to giving it a go.

Hey everyone.

This is my first year at trying Nano.
I have self published my first 2 full length novels, 'Deadlight' and 'Monochromacy' and they have done really well, but since seperating from my wife the mind hasn't been in the right place.
Nano is my way of letting the shackles break away.
I only thought of the idea for this NaNo story a couple of weeks ago so I will see how it goes.
It's great to be onboard though.
I am loving that there are quite a few Tassie people doing NaNo as well :)

Happy writing to everyone.

Woot lots of replies! I haven't forgotten just very busy at work. I won't be able to do much meeting (my brother Wrage can though) as I've picked up some extra work at work (like I needed more but whatever) so any spare time I did have has now been flushed and it'll be a struggle to get this thing finished let alone get all my dang work done.

On the other hand I may end up speaking some Mandarin and making extra cash out of it so hey - lemons and lemonade and all. XD

I am - however - thinking of going to the Botanical Gardens one weekend for a walk and to get away from the computer screen so if folk are interested we could do a Nano Picnic depending on weather and everything. Meeting folk I've never met is kinda scary but I guess at least if it's a big ole park you can always escape off if I turn out to be boring and/or mental. (I guarantee I am both plus I smell funny).

:)

Happy to meet up; would like to get down to Hobart sometime during the month, too.
