You're here in the MD regional forum, so you're obviously interested in what is happening with NaNoWriMo in Maryland. Now take it a step further and proclaim this as your home region.

Why set a home region?

  • You'll receive fascinating MD-only pep talks from Lee & Vickie. No other regions get to read these. Oh sure, they have their own MLs, but trust us, it's not the same
  • Your statistics count toward one of the top regions in all of NaNoWriMo-dom. Last year Maryland placed 3rd in both total word count and fundraising.
  • You can join in our long-standing rivalry and Word War against the Lushguins!
  • It's easier to find this forum when you've designated it and eliminated all of the others that you must sift through.

How do you set your home region?

  • Select "Edit My Regions" from the menu to the left of your profile
  • Select the "Home Region" tab at the top of the page
  • Check the bubble next to "United States :: Maryland"
  • Click "Set Home Region" at the bottom of that page
  • Done!

You can also list your specific location in your profile, which may help in setting up write-ins.

Looks like we have 1560 people with MD as their home region - wow!

We have over 2100 who are affiliated.

*bumps because she only barely saw it through a morass of two hundred-sum emails*

Random question - if I'm not in MD for most of Nano, can I still claim it as my home region?
