Support NaNoWriMo - Donating When Broke

Howdy Ho Red Hots!

It's that time of year again, the time where we gather around our writing tools and await to write our glorious novels. It's amazing that going into our 11th year of National Novel Writing Months, NaNoWriMo is still free.......

Part of the reason this great 30 days of literary abandon is free is donations. while The HQ staff work tirelessly to garner grants throughout the year to pay for the expenses of NaNoWriMo, without donations.....we'd be paying to torture our writer souls. Every dollar donated goes to further our causes. And as an official 501.3c Not for Profit organization, National Novel Writing Month needs your donations.

Now I know, "That's all good and well eensybeensyspider. I love NaNo and would donate, but I am broke! I can barely afford my rent, let alone a few dollars for the NaNoWriMo cause. I'll never earn my halo."

Ahhhhhhh fear not halo-less writer of Red Hot-ness...... even if you're broke, you can still help garner donations for our beloved NaNoWriMo. How you ask? Why by starting a sponsorship page and getting that link to every soul you know..... here's details:

Sometimes the paychecks arrive late, the bills are overdue, and essential things like tuition and ramen make short work of philanthropy budgets. We understand. Even if you can't make a cash donation to the Office of Letters and Light, there are still many ways to fund NaNoWriMo's adult and youth programs.

Cool thing: We'll send you donor thank-you goodies based on the total amount you raise. Also, getting sponsors for your novel will dramatically increase your commitment to making it to 50K! It's the gift of fear that keeps on giving!

I'll be sending this out in a regional email once Dan our Tech Guy says emails are reliable again.... but for now.... if you want to help NaNoWriMo and just don't have the loose cash..... click those links and get those sponsors. Last year I did and it was magnificent. i was shocked at how many folks actually sponsored me. Give it a try and if nothing else..... you can use repetitive checking f your sponsorship page as a way to procrastinate through November!!! ;)
