You can also keep an eye on the phrase "nanowrimo" with the search function, there's quite a lot of people talking about it.
I believe some melbourne people are using #nanomelb to tag local stuff, more info in the "Melb. Nanoers elsewhere on the web" thread I believe.

Thanks guys, following you both now :) I don't actually Tweet much, I just signed up for the challenge of whether I could express my thoughts in 140 characters (which is a bit frustrating at times, though I guess it's good to exercise those writing muscles). I mainly signed up to offer other writers support.
Oh, and sorry I haven't introduced myself properly yet - I'd rather do it in person :)
