Lincoln Square write-ins!

I attended a couple of those write-ins last year, and they were fun! Fridays and Sundays are best for me. Thanks!

I'm in. Any day after 5pm is good for me.

Hrm, how's the parking in that area? I live in Bucktown, so taking public there sounds like a hassle.

Yay! Considering I already spend way too much time at the Starbucks on Lincoln and Wilson (I live right next door), I am totally up for this. Most evenings are good for me--6:30 or later--and so are Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

I'd love to attend - weekends and evenings are definitely best for me :)

Parking is pretty easy. There's a pay lot about half a block down Lincoln, and there is usually space on the side streets, unless it's a Friday or Saturday night. Depending on where you live in Bucktown, though, it's not too bad to get there on public transit (via the Western or Damen bus).

Lincoln and Wilson, eh? If memory serves, that's across Old Town School of Music. I'll probably head there Saturday afternoons, since I have a huge chunk of time before my evening shift starts.

Just make sure one of us brings a power strip so we don't get yelled at again. haha

Oh wow, didn't realize how close that intersection was to Western! Im definitely in. I can do any evening but Monday.

I'm in for Sunday evenings and maybe other evenings depending on work schedule.

OK. Let's plan for Sunday evenings, since it sounds like that works for the most people (and it interferes the least with Thanksgiving) - 6-9ish sound good?

The first week (Nov. 1st), I fully intend to go eat some grilled cheese at the kick-off party, so I will probably go hang out at the Starbucks on Wednesday that week instead. Dunno if we want to make that an official gathering or not, but that'll be my plan. :)

Sunday sounds good to me. And I might show up on Weds, seeing as I am now unemployed I have tons of free time!

Unemployed NaNos represent! I'm unemployed as of Friday and so I'll definitely be around some Wednesdays as well as some of the Sundays. Yay!

I'm going to attempt to utilize community support for finishing Nanowrimo this year. I have the shame of doing this multiple times and only succeeding once so I wish to put this shame behind me.

In terms of locations, the Starbucks is a good place, the Grafton has the nice seating area in the back, but might be too cozy.

I don't know how many people attend Write Ins so don't know how much space is needed.

Hm! Though I live in Lakeview, looks like this write-in may be closer to me than the other, so please count me in as well.

Is anyone interested in doing a write-in before/after the Old Town school's November First Friday event?

I'm totally in for Sunday evenings. These Lincoln Square write-ins were so fun last year!

This year I may have wrangled my husband as a fellow NaNo-er. I'll see if I can drag him with me!

OK, so I've had a migraine and occasional bouts of sickness all day, so I may not make it to the Starbucks tonight. I'm working on medicating myself, but the results so far have not been promising. However, it sounds like a few other folks were planning on going, so keep on if you're inclined.

Did anyone else go out tonight? I was there and I didn't see anyone there. Hopefully there were others there working on their novels as well.

I too should have sent regrets for tonight. I was also feeling nasty and was contemplating not writing at all. But I did, am glad for it and have 110% commitment to be there on Sunday. Hopefully with a secret scone stash.

what exactly does one do at a write in?

I was there, too, but I didn't recognize anyone. Nobody had a tent.

I'll be at Starbucks at 6 p.m. tonight. I'll have a table tent (though depending my wonky printer, it may not be the official one) and my laptop has a NaNo sticker :)

Anybody planning on coming tomorrow? I'm hoping to make it, and maybe this time I'll remember to bring a tent, too. :)

I will be there with a tent! I am also going to try to hunt down a power strip - but if anyone has one (esp. a three-pronged one), it would be super helpful.

I'll bring my three-pronged and my two-pronger. One can never have too much power!
