Hi California Dreaming and Coramdeo -
I'm in Paso and doing my first NaNo. I know there is one more Paso person, but other than that I don't have contact with anyone else.
Nice to "meet" you.

Hi MissJewell -
Somebody close! I'm good. Are you ready? Cool quote. Martha Graham is my first cousin twice removed (my grandmother's cousin).
Later!

Hey all! I'm an ex-SLO nano. I just graduated from Cal Poly in June and I'm back up in norcal now, but just wanted to say hi to the couple of names I recognize (California Dreaming and Coramdeo both look familiar), and best of luck to everyone!

Hello all, and a welcome back to Coramdeo and to Firedrake83 -- even if you have deserted us for Norcal (and congratulations on your successful graduation, btw!). It looks as though we may have to write together via the Internet this November, as we seem to be spread the length and width of the county. Perhaps we can set writing times, so we know at least we're spending virtual time together working on word counts? Any other suggestions?

I'm the other person living in Paso whom Jo mentioned. I am a first timer as well. Good luck to everyone!

Welcome, victorialuna and fairie_knightlite, to the November ride of your life! We'll be here to cheer you on, help you through the rough spots, discuss plots and problems (or avoid discussing them), and celebrate each other's successes.
16 days to go!

Thanks, california dreaming. I have to admit I'm a little nervous, this being my first time. I've been writing pretty much all my life, but nothing of this scale... So it's good to know there are people out there to help support me!

Currently, I'm going to college up near Sacramento, but I'm from Arroyo Grande and will be back in town the week of Thanksgiving. I was wondering if there's going to be any SLO county write-ins during that week (though it definitely looks like everyone's really spread out this year)?
To victorialuna, fairie_knightlite, and Jo TaylorGlowing: Aww, firsties! Don't be too nervous, NaNoWriMo's supposed to be fun. It's really not as bad as it sounds and it's a worthwhile experience even if you don't finish.
Good luck, everyone!

SLO dweller adding to the count! Are there any official meet-ups planned, or have some of you old salts met in the past? I was thinking about organizing a write-in next Sunday afternoon in SLO. Anyone up for it?

As in the first? Unlikely for me--that's my week with the Internet-suspicious parent who hates driving, and I've got a year and a half before that magical license-thing comes into play.
Of course, even the other parent's willingness to let me meet up with a bunch of people older than me met over the Internet is questionable. This could take some maneuvering...
So that's a no for me on the first.

Hi All -
I put everyone on my buddy list, hope you don't mind. I think I will be able to connect who is who easier that way.
california dreaming - No on Nov 1st, sorry but I work. Thanks for being the first to suggest a time for a meetup. I would like to get together at some point though.
Miss Jewell - I'm a nurse at Twin Cities if that gives the parental units any relief. I'm not sure I'd be any different than they are being. My son's 12 and I insist on meeting people he goes places with. First impressions are enough.
I've thought of a few meeting places around the county and I thought I'd list them so we could decide on likely places. Please add to the list.
Paso:
Cafe Vio
San Luis:
Linnea's
Barnes & Noble
There must be a ton of places because of Cal Poly
Any Starbucks
Okay, so it's a short list. I'll keep thinking. I personally don't mind driving, but understand it is an issue for some.
I'm getting excited! Good luck to everyone.

For anyone that wants to meet up, I'll be at Sally Lou's in San Luis Obispo on Sunday afternoon, from probably noon until 6, when they close. I'll have my NaNoWriMo mug with me!!

Hello to all my SLO County neighbors! I'm in Arroyo Grande and this is my 3rd NaNo.
I'll be traveling for the first 8 days so this year will be a challenge but maybe I'll be inspired by what I see. I doubt I'll have any time for a meet up unless it's a random weekday night because November is conspiring against me this year.
I wish you all luck and happy writing!

Your THIRD Nano and you're in AG????? How'd we miss each other last year?! This is my 2nd Nano....also in AG obviously. :-) If you're available some random weeknight, even for a couple of hours, I might be available. Feel free to give me a shout.

Hey! I'm currently going to Cal Poly, so, yeah, SLO.
I've tried NaNo in the past a couple times, but this time I'm serious. I never got far before, but now I want to win!
I'd love to go to a write-in, since I've never been to one before. They sound fun.

Strike that. I'm cooking dinner with another NaNo, and we're writing!

Nano rookie here. Writing my way through November from AG. I'll most likely be moving during the month, should make for an interesting time, but plan on staying in the county. Hello all!

Hi, I'm in Morro Bay. This is my... fourth year doing NaNo? Jesus. Have yet to win though.
Anyway, good to know there's at least a couple other folk doing it in the area.

Hello! I'm from Templeton... I had forgotten all about this until a FB friend mentioned it and I just signed up and started yesterday (Nov. 2) and am wondering what I've gotten myself into! At the same time, though, I'm excited!
Happy Writing all!
