Okay they claim they're the second city but who can write the most words collectively in a month?

We had a word war with Birmingham last year and guess who won? Oh right, it was us! (by about a million words apparently!) So let's do it again!

So what you need to do:
1. If you haven't already done so, set your home region to Manchester (otherwise your word count won't go towards our tally!)
2. Write like the wind!
3. Have fun (it goes without saying!)

We're already at an advantage as we have more people in our region so come on, let's do this. Let's make it 2 years in a row!

Well I can't see this being a problem, assuming they write as 'fast' as they speak. (yeah I know its a cheap shot at the Brummie accent, but its more fun when there's rivalry!)

Erm, ok, so it was me who challenged you from the Birmingham forum last year. But hey, guess what.... I've now moved house and am on the Wirral. I can't find anywhere nearer, so I guess I should join you - if you'll let me!

LMAO.

.. so is there a trophy or something? I don't know many people from Birmingham so as to lord over ... I think I'd need something tactile to truly appreciate it.

The losing team will have to make a certificate for the winners (for presentation at the TGIO party)

We've also been discussing all putting in in order to buy the winners sweeties/plate of chips to enjoy at the losers expense. (Although this really depends on whether people would be up for it or not)

We took on the might of Wales last year. Are we doing that again?

The thing Birmingham forgets is it's not the size of the pen that counts. It's how you use it, and in this case, how quickly you can finish it.

lol. We had a midnight write-in so eleven of us started typing at midnight and didn't stop til 8am. We then went to the Coffee Lounge (our write-in venue) at 11 ish and carried on typing til 3:30 when they kicked us out. So we had a hard day of writing. XD

When you're on your regions forum main page, there should be a tab saying Regional Info. Click that and it will bring up the stats for your region.
