I remember a topic like this last year and it really helped me to get a lot of writing done. Basically someone posts write (x amount of words) if you (this can be anything from had coffee this morning to own a blue car). Then if you wrote because you did have coffee or own a blue car or whatever they put, you leave one for the next person.
For those of you writing now to get into the spirit, I will start the thread off.
Write 200 words if you logged into NANOWRIMO.org more than once today.
Anyone who writes 200 words because they did log into the site more than once should leave something for the next person!

As Regina walked to the doctor’s office, a pregnant woman sat in a nearby indigo armchair, her swollen legs swinging, skimming the pattern less rug beneath them. Regina however hardly took notice of her protruding stomach or her limp, tired hair. She simply smiled and moved toward the daunting hallway before her.
Once out of the view of the others waiting for their doctors, she began to hum the song that had been playing in her car on the way there. Slowly, her volume increased and she was soon singing the words at full volume.
Nevertheless, she stopped instantly when she spotted the peeling floral wallpaper. Stopping to admire the violet pattern, she didn’t realize the man peering over her.
‘A connoisseur of wallpaper?’
Swearing under her breath and grasping at her ghostly pale chest, she turned around so quickly that her split ends impaled her chocolate eyes.
Apologizing for scaring her, the man proceeded to introduce himself.
‘Sorry to frighten you. I’m Trenton,’ he said with a sheepish grin. ‘I just noticed you were wearing a Neutral Milk Hotel shirt. They’re genius.’
‘Right,’ Regina stuttered. ‘Of course. Thanks.’
Leaving him there, obviously dejected, she shuffled toward her doctor’s office.

This scene is SO retarded! But amusing. I'm so mean, teehee. 604 words, 15 minutes
LeFou and Sybil were arm wrestling, as per usual. Any time a challenge was posed by the arrogant, supposedly metrosexual man in his low-riding pinstriped pants to the lavender-haired spunk, it was always called. They were hunched over one of the tables in the Inn, backs arched, beads of sweat rolling down their foreheads as their eyes were locked. LeFou's irridescent opal eyes flashed with intensity as they bore into the violet irises of the girl before him, who was not showing many signs of duress. He needed to find a way to redeem himself.
After a moment a grin curled his lips, slithering across his face where the skeleton's mask was painted upon his skin. Sybil's brow arched, tilting her head just slightly, although it caused her beloved hat to tip just a bit too far, nearly falling to the floor. Just in time with a yelp she jerked it back into place, biceps bulging delicately as she locked gazes with her opponent yet again. "Whatcha thinkin?"
LeFou's lips parted over his pearly teeth, the gleam white and polished as ever. "Oh. Nothing in particular. That's all."
"Bullshit," Sybil said, giving a sudden surge with her arm to try and shove his back. He only yielded for a moment and then retaliated with an equally sudden shove, using some of his upper body to force her back. Pathetic. SO horridly pathetic. He had to remedy this... And already he could see his cheshire grin was getting to her, causing just enough self-doubt to give him a slight edge over her present advantage.
"You may think that, dear Sybil, but it's only a matter of time...." He narrowed his eyes with deliciously wicked glee, cackling low in his throat mixed with a sound nearly comparable to a purrrr.
She narrowed her eyes back and shoved again, locking her elbow against the table as she decreased the angle his elbow created with the table. She was gritting her teeth but at least she was winning. "Your bluffs are getting worse."
Are they? LeFou thought to himself, allowing a small brow perk at her statement. Perhaps they are, perhaps, he continued to ponder, But I've got her wondering just what it is I'm up to. Yes I do.... Now let me see....
And it was then that inspiration struck.
LeFou lifted his gaze from its previously intense lock with Sybil's, looking over her shoulders....
His jaw dropped. The flickering rainbow of color in his milky eyes instantly deadened to a dull, lifelless panic as he seemed stunned in his tracks. What Sybil failed to notice was that he was still keeping her arm at bay, and this lack of observation would cost her. To her most unfortunate surprise she quickly whirled around to find....
....nothing,
SLAM!
"I win again!" LeFou cried with glee, leaping onto the table and giving a flourish and a bow, smugly congratulating himself at large. Sybil wrinkled her nose and drummed her manicured nails on the table.
"That's crap, you tricked me."
"Crap is in the eye of the beholder, dear opponent, and I do believe you owe me something." He curled his index finger toward himself multiple times in a beckoning gesture, and now it was Sybil's turn to grin. She meandered around the table from where she sat toward him.... and socked him right between his legs. LeFou instantly crumpled on the table, curled in the tightest of fetal positions; he surely could have fit himself back in the womb at that circumference. Sybil patted his back without sympathy and floated across the Inn to see if Lorne would be social today. The only other sound in the room was LeFou's painful whimper.

Generally, you don't post what you've written in response to a prompt...just the prompt you're leaving or the ones you've taken.
These things get really big as November goes on, and you can find yourself "owing" like 3000 by the end of a page.
Public Service Announcement is now over.
On to prompts!
Write 150 words if you...
-- Told a child "no" today
-- Have played a video game for at least half an hour this week
-- Still have to name your MC
-- Are planning on skipping at least one event in November in order to write
And now I owe 1000 words, since I walked outside today.

Yes, to the video game; Singstar.
He liked walking in the dark. I was comforting, it was home. God knew, if there even was a God, that he wasn't at home in his house with his deadbeat dad, or at school where everyone looked at him like a freak, as if they were all perfect. No doubt they viewed him as some stupid emo -- that was just their way of insulting him, even going so far as to believe it, and letting their dirty smirks infest his mind. They knew he hated it. He'd smash in their faces if it would wipe that look from their faces, their eyes.
And his dad, he didn't pay much attention to. He'd just lay about the house, drinking beers and complaining about Orion, before leaving the house the next day to his tedious job as a labourer amongst complaints that he might chuck a sickie because he was hungover.
That's 150, exactly! Counted it myself.

300 words to me! Here I go, courtesy of Write Or Die:
Laura never thought twice about her decision. After all, it was she who'd always wanted a life of adventure, one free of the boredom that daily smothered her in her well-kept apartment. So she sold everything, even her precious laptop, and joined the Peace Corps.
Signing up was not the adventure she thought it would be. It was appointments and interviews and forms to fill out. Ugh, those forms she had to fill out. Then she was afraid she wouldn't be accepted, even though she'd heard that they pretty much accepted everyone. She certainly hadn't been expecting the background check.
But after a lot of jumping through hoops, Laura finally bade her old life of careful planning good-bye. Onward toward adventure! Onward toward spontaneity! New people to meet! New places to see! New and wonderful and exciting things to do!
She was rather disappointed when her plane touched down in Botswana. She would be living in poverty with an entire village of people who didn't speak English while she taught them how to dig irrigation ditches to improve their crop yield. Like she knew anything about irrigation ditches! Now she'd have to learn it herself, but from where? There was no library nearby where she could research "how to dig irrigation ditches for dummies."
This was no good, but there was no turning back for her. Oh, how she longed for her old life of bills that needed paying on time. Her cell phone, her credit card, her rent. How she long for the sure structure of her 9-to-5 job. That desk started taunting her in her dreams.
And her laptop! Laura began to kick herself for selling her baby, with all her files on it, all the games she loved to play. FreeCell. Spider Solitaire. Hearts. But what she missed most of all was her bathtub.
