I know Ocean County is smack dab in the middle of everything, but there are a few of us around here.
Is anyone fairly close or would be interested in heading down for a write-in every now and then?
I'm from the Toms River area with a friend in the Manchester area. We would absolutely love to get together to write with anyone willing :)

Hi, I am excited about this writing. Last year I wrote but failed. "no use in cryin' over spilled milk or keyboard words".

High hopes, this year will be better.

Last year I didn't know how to get my words into the counter so I gave up.

I enjoy hearing from everyone. I wrote back to you 'cause I like your user name.

I am bedridden which means I can't walk. Otherwise I am happy & high spirited.

Good luck to us both and I hope you connect with someone in Ocean county.

I'm quite far but I decided to try and visit as many areas as I can at least once. My ability to travel has increased exponentially this year so I should take advantage of it.

What did you have in mind? I don't think I can become a regular (so don't plan to include me) but I'd love to know what's going on anyway. If you're meeting on a weeknight, I can probably catch the later half of it.

If you and your friend know where and when you are meeting, let me know and I'll add it to the calendar. Right now all I have is the East Brunswick stuff and I know there's more going on around here than that. :)

nursesaide - Thank you :). We all just have to keep motivated and i'm sure we'll accomplish something good! Good luck to you, as well.

Katie C - Right now we are brainstorming location ideas and are open to suggestions. There was a cafe in Brick called "The Artist Cafe and Bagelry" - i need to see if they are still open and perhaps have wireless internet. I'll keep you updated on what we determine :)

I'm in Brick and would be interested, though I might be limited in days I can do it as I have a baby daughter who keeps me pretty occupied. :)

I'm from Point Pleasant Beach, and I'd like to put in my vote for "interested". Fortunately it isn't too far away!

*** Please inform me of your schedules ***
I need to know what days and times are good for everyone :)
-

Weekends might only be good in the early morning until 12:30pm
We found a Cafe in Brick that is open from 6:30am-4pm Monday-Saturday and 6:30am-2pm on Sunday.
Looking into Panera in Howell for later hours.
Suggestions are still welcome!

I substitute teach and sometimes don't know if I'm going to have a job until that morning, so if we meet during the day, I'm going to leave it up to everyone else to plan and I'll just be a maybe for showing up. When it comes to evenings, my other job changes schedules weekly, so if we can try to plan a week in advance then I can put in that I can work a day that day rather than a night.

Panera in Howell should be open till 9pm every night (possibly not Sunday..). Another suggestion might be the Jackson Library, which is huge. I know they have WiFi in the library, but I'd have to look into it some more to see what it takes to be able to use one of their rooms or if we can just grab a table upstairs. I believe they are also open to 9 every night except Sunday.

Looking forward to getting started! :)

Just wanted to say, if you wrote, you didn't fail. I know we're all trying to get to 50k words, but just trying and giving it a goes makes you (and all of us really) winners :)

I'm from Toms River and would be interested. I'm a full time college student though, and I also work, so for me alot of it would depend on times. Have you thought about using the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library or Ocean County College's library. I know the college's library actually has little rooms for groups of people to meet in, and not disturb other people in the library.

I go to college there, and I've used it alot to meet with groups for presentations, to study, and to write papers away from the noise and distractions at home. I know there's alot of space, and upstairs there's all those rooms that could be beneficial depending on the size of a group wanting to meet. It's just a suggestion though.I just figured I'd put that out there.

This is going to be a quick "call to arms" for Wednesday (Nov 4th).
There will be a Morning write in and an Evening write in. Different locations so make sure you know where you are going and when if you're joining!

12:30pm
Cafe 55 Coffee House and Bagelery -

It's in the Stop N Shop/A. C. Moore plaza all the way at the end next to the A. C. Moore. (The Cafe closes at 4pm)

7pm

It's off of 9 in a plaza with a Michael's. (Panera closes at 9, i believe)

Any questions just feel free to message me. You can go directly to my AIM or MSN if you need to- they are posted on my profile.
We are going to be switching up locations and days weekly as we find things out. We want to accommodate as many people as possible at least once.
I am going to nanomail this to everyone regardless of what schedule they've told me and crosspost it.
Hoping to see whoever can make it!

Thanks for the heads up bohemiangrl316 - we'll get things more sorted after this week/after i get your reply.

Hi, everyone...I am excited to see other participants in this area. I live in southern ocean county and since this is my first nanowrimo ever and i am totally lost as to *what* to write my rapid yet wordy novel about, i think i am going to spend the hour it would take tomorrow driving to brick to try to sort out my thoughts at home instead. I would be interested though if there are other write-ins or meetings anywhere in ocean or monmouth county. good luck!

I live in Burlington county (Cookstown area) very close to the ocean county line. A write-in sounds good.

I should be able to make at least one of them!

Definitely the Panera one I can do. Tonight will depend on if I have to work or not. still waiting to hear.

As far as Panera goes, I'm going to try and get a table in the back room where all the tables are at the same level and you can fit more than two people to a table so we'll be more of a group rather than kind of separated like we were last time.

See you guys then!

Awesome. :) Don't know if i saw the back area, but we'll find you in there.
Do hope to see you tonight if you don't have work. Only sure about one or two other people so we'll see who shows up. I'll give you the scoop tomorrow if i don't see you.

I am planning to be there tomorrow evening. I was hoping to make it to OCC tonight since it's only a couple minutes from my house but I was way too exhausted to be social after a long day in the field for work.

Looking forward to meeting some fellow writers face-to-face! I will head to the back room area when I get there and will hopefully spot someone from this crew.

EDIT - Not going to make it tonight after all. Between the weather and the early start for work tomorrow, it's just not going to happen. Sorry. Next week should be less hectic for me (hopefully!), so I will make it to a write-in then.

It happens no worries :) Ill brave the icky weather and still go, especially since I've done no writing yet today. Been kind of a..meh day...not much motivation, so hopefully getting out will help with that :)

The back room is right to the right of the soda machines! Hopefully I can snag the table near the outlet!

See some of you later :)

I'm gonna try for Saturday. I should be able to get a sitter for the morning and it's easier as that's the time my daughter takes a nap.

It sounds interesting. I'll think about it. I may need to charge up the laptop and get the extra loud earphones, but it could be fun.

we do try to get tables near outlets if that helps..not always possible but we do what we can and yes it can get loud in there..but we talk a bit as well..not to mention sometimes the conversations around us are inspiration for things to write. It's a shame they dont have pickles on the planet in my novel..i could have written a whole chapter about it after last week :)

Are you sure the college will be open since it is Thanksgiving break and all? Unfortunately I have to work that day (UGH!) until 6 or so, so we'll have to see how exhausted I am. Stupid black friday. Tuesday is a maybe as well. I have to check my cash flow :P
