Hello fellow Wrimos!!
The google calendar is still forthcoming however, I did want to advertise the upcoming meet and greet so that we could start to get an acurate idea of who would be interested in attending.
The festivities will begin at 11:00 am at Apples Corner Bakery on Knoxville (a little bit past Pioneer Parkway). Come and meet your partners in writing crime and enjoy some Apple's home baked goodies!
Please let either me or Cheri know if you will be able to make it so we can have a very general idea of how many seats we will need to save. You can either nano mail me, or post an rsvp to this thread. We look forward to meeting the new people and to hanging out with some old friends as well.

I plan on it again this year, even if I end up not writing due to time constraints. A lot of my creative output this year is my movie. But once again I will be there and try to write!

Whoo, update! It seems I'll probably be able to go after all. :) I have a friend who writes occasionally as a hobby but isn't reall participating in NaNo, though she loves cafes and bakeries and would enjoy the conversation. Is it alright if she comes, should there be space/seats enough?

Absolutely! The goodie bags at the M&G will be reserved for participating Wrimos, but we'll have baked treats to share. And, maybe your friend will see how cool we all are, and decide to try NaNoWriMo too! ;o) I think I met you a few years ago at Borders, right? I'm going to come your way for a Kick-off, Gypsy...so I hope, I hope, I hope you can come to that!! I have photos from last year too--my old near-dead computer's files were rescued recently. HOORAY! =)
I am not 100% sure what day, but Kewanee Kick-off will be in the first week of November. Can you help me with planning it? Please PM me with some dates/times/places, because I've never really been to Kewanee other than passing through, and I will be wandering lost for sure. hee

First 20 writers in the door will receive a goodie bag.
Baked treats provided.
Coffee/drinks on your own.
Discussion:brief intro about NaNo, calendar, Sister City Frenemy Program, chatroom, Word Wars & All-Things-NaNo Q&A. NaNo Novel Planning Session/Write-in for other projects immediately following. We'll be there until 2 PM, and I'll be bringing some book-in-a-month books for you all to peruse.
btw...this is off topic, but the reason we're starting an hour later than normal is because I will be walking the Walk A Mile In My Shoes fundraiser for the Center for Prevention of Abuse. AWESOME charity--they provide support, counseling & shelter for victims of domestic violence...which is the theme of my novel this year (and is actually the platform behind all of my novels and planned novels too). I'd be thrilled to see you at both events!!

Due to copious amounts of rain there is a possiblity I May be able to come to the meet and greet. Put me down as a definet Maybe. I will just slink in the door, scope out the people, and see if I can figure out who the writers are.
