My name is Cheryl and I've participated in NaNo two of the last three years, and have yet to win. Seems life is always getting in the way. I'm fully planning on winning this year, though, and have come up with some great suggestions about how to keep on track from everyone's postings so far. I need to come up with a more detailed plot than I have for my novel now (I have a few ideas running through my head, but none that I'm happy with), and the suggestion of an outline will prove immensely helpful, I'd wager.

I wish all of you the best of luck!

Cheryl,

It sounds like you need a few plot ninjas! Check this out:

http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3381996

If I'm having a tough time with plot, I always dig into my characters. Describe them in detail, backgrounds, where they live ect. The more info that you know about someone, the more their story becomes clear. If all else fails, drop in a ninja!

Nicbeast,

There is a Wednesday night write in Morga Hill. You can check out the schedules here:

If you can find a few more Gilroy NaNos, you can schedule one and send the info to Lisa and Ian to be posted above.
