I go to university in Reading.

If anyone is up for some write-ins in Reading it would be great!

Hi, I'm in Wokingham! I've put myself down as London for my home region, because it seemed closest.

Hullo! I split my time between Reading, Slough & Twickenham so I put London as my home region. :)

I'm in Reading too - why can't be have a region for "berkshire"?

This is my first year of doing this... eep!

So who's going to be writing in Starbucks or do you all write at home?

Typing or hand writing?

This is terrifying,

I get twitchy whenever I suspect someone's looking at my screen; I could never write in Starbucks (or any other public place -- I have a hard enough time writing with my boyfriend next to me). I've tried writing by hand and typing it up, but I tend to deviate from what I've written which doesn't help.

Good luck on your first year :)

Berkshire should have it's own location! I'm tired of London oppression! I'll write at home I think but might Starbucks up the weekend.. depends on how I feel I suppose.

I always type because I can't write as fast as I can think and it's easier to make corrections, but I'll probably outline ideas and storyboard on paper because it's faster to diagram :)

Hi, I'm in Woodley too.

I found lots of people from Reading in Oxfordshire - and there are some meets planned too. Don't know why Berkshire isn't a region.

Susie.

I know what you mean - I commute and sometimes type on the train, so I tried reducing the size on my screen to 75% - it's perfect, no-one can possibly read it. The other advantage is I can't read it either so I don't edit as I go along.

I could have sworn I'd posted about this...I've reduced the font size on my computer to 5pt: I can just about make out the words, and if I want to go back and check something, I can just highlight and change the font of that section. That, combined with turning off spelling and grammar check (I'm writing with a fair few made-up/fictional/foreign surnames, hence a reasonable amount of red lines) has kept my editor away :P

Hello, I'm from Woodley, Reading too.
I also have no idea where there's not a Berkshire region, it seems like an oversight.

I'm doing all my typing at home at the moment - no mobile computer facility for me!

Like most of you here, I have no idea why there isn't a Berkshire region. Lack of people willing to put themselves up as municipal liasons, I suppose.

The Oxfordshire group has a ton of Berkshire and more specifically Readingites, myself included, and we do regular meets in Reading and Oxford. The next one's this Saturday at BB's in the Oracle 12 till 2. Anyone that fancies it (or even showing up and setting up your own enclave!) would be more than welcome!

Hope you don't think I'm trolling the thread, BTW. Just interested in seeing who else is out there!

I'm in Wokingham!
Very close to Crowthorne hehe!

I'm kind of stuck inside mostly at the moment though; recovering from surgery, and my wheelchair has a flat tyre, so I'd need to fix that before I get out, and that costs :-(

Would anyone be interested in meeting up for a Chinese on Wednesday 2nd December in Crowthorne? There's a pretty decent restaurant on the High Street. I can make the arrangements if necessary.
