For Royal Oak - Troy area WriMos, a brewpub write-in at Black Lotus. Look for the novelists sitting near the far wall.

When: Tuesdays in November, 7 - 9 PM or later

Where:
Black Lotus Brewing Co.       [map]       [website]
1 East 14 Mile Rd, Clawson, MI 48017 (corner of Main St.)
     Phone: (248) 577-1878

Menu: Burgers, sandwiches, fabulous nachos

Ages: All ages until 9-ish; later, 21+

Driving/Parking Tips:
Exit I-75 at 14 Mile Rd West; or at Big Beaver Rd East, then turn right at Livernois (becomes Main St.)
Plenty of free parking behind the row of stores, just turn right one block north of 14 Mile. There is a rear entrance to Black Lotus.

Black Lotus is a friendly brewpub who are glad to see us back. The time is on the early side because a live band starts playing at 9. We usually sit at a large table away from the stage area.

I work in Troy, so that will be perfect. I'll probably be there slightly early. I generally get done with work around 6. I'm excited to start.

Just a suggestion... Think about coming on the early side. Everything last week went fine except we stayed after the band began playing. The place got full very fast, so some of us waited quite a while to pay our checks. Conclusion: when the band starts tuning up, it's time to leave!

I'm in class in Detroit until 8'ish, but I want to try to make the last half hour at least. I need a guaranteed time to write, even if it's only for half an hour. I have a lot of word count catching up to do.

Hey there, just wanted to say tonight we have 12 nanowers and the possibility of more to come!
Is this the biggest write in? Who can say.

It was pretty sweet, that's for sure. We should count how many funny looks we get next time though, I think it'd be fun to see how many there were.

Possibly more curious looks. I was busily writing for most of them, but I did catch a few.

I think I was too busy word warring - I only noticed looks when we were plotting to steal tables. :)

Sorry I couldn't make it this week. I had work and a pileup of other things to get done if I wanted to take full advantage of Thanksgiving Break for writing. Good luck to all of you!
