Greetings!

My name is Ilya, and I'm co-ML for the OKC Metro. More specifically, I am sharing this region with KamikazeCricket (Jasmine). She is minding OKC proper and points North, and I'm looking after the Southern area of the Metro. (I live and work in Norman.)

What this means is, if you live in any of the communities or rural areas close to the above, and in towns like Littleaxe, Lexington, Purcell, Goldsby, Newcastle, and even Choctaw and Shawnee (and points even farther, town or rural), and think you'd like to make it into Norman even once during NaNoWriMo, may I kindly suggest the following.

You can have more regions in addition to your home region. For example, I don't live in OKC, so my home region has always been United States, Oklahoma, Elsewhere. I had to change mine to OKC because of the ML duties, but I kept OK Elsewhere as a region, as well.

If you are from these nearby areas, I would suggest that you set OKC as your home region, and keep OK Elsewhere as well.

If you set up OKC as your home region, you will have access to the calendar which will show meet-ups, and all posts and e-mails which will announce meet-ups, events, info, pep talks and fun. And you can correspond with other NaNos.

There will be a meet-up every Monday at 10.00 from now through all of November at the Barnes & Noble in Norman, and I am working on setting up a meet-up every Sunday (likely hours 2pm to 4pm), venue to be decided no later than Tuesday next (27th October). Watch this space.

I work a 'compressed' week, which means I work Wed through Sat and, when the weather somewhere on the planet is really bad, I don't always get off in time, which is why the main meet-up will have to be Sunday. I know some folks go to church, so the time is made to accommodate that, and also to let folks that don't go to church have a time that is neither too early, nor too late.

Looking forward to meeting more fellow NaNos and sharing this insanely marvellous novelling time together!

Cheers, Ilya (navg8r)

Wow, I wish I would have jumped on this thread sooner! I just missed the meet up, I guess, and that makes me SAAAAD. I am thinking about stopping by next week, even if it makes me all nervous to meet other NaNo writers. Call me strange, but it's true. I look forward to meeting everyone!

Don't worry about missing meet-ups, we always have more, and you're always welcome. I might be co-ML for OKC, but I can still hide under tables with the best of them! Because of that, never fear coming and joining, because I'm really aware of the scary factor! ;-) I am generally quiet, soft-spoken, and want to assure you, you've no fear meeting fellow writers, we're all in this together. We're all shy, and I hold low-demand, high comfort meet-ups, and am always wishing to welcome new friends.

Sundays, Hastings on Main Street in Norman, 2-4pm
Mondays, Barnes & Noble, Norman, 10-Noon

Mmmmmmm.... Dr Pepper. Diet DP is the Nectar of the Gods, and the finest of fuels.

Anyway, please don't be sad! Join us and smile! Looking forward to seeing you when you can make it.

Kindest regards,

Well, count me in on Sunday! Where about in Hastings, with everyone lounging with laptops and coffees and mmm coffees. And mmm, Diet Dr P cherry = most amazing. Just don't mix in a Caine's cup with rum. No good things can come from this.

I'm now really excited to be meeting everyone, and can't wait to join up in the debauchery! Currently, I'm just. You know. Procrastinating. :)

I live in South OKC near OCCC. I get to Norman quite frequently to have lunch with my sister since she works there and lives in Purcell. I am going to attend the meeting tonight up on NW 13th, but also plan on attending the Hastings meeting on Sundays in Norman. I actually have it sheduled to try and make every meeting.

I wish I had known about it for the 1st since I drove right by there on my way back from Purcell. Anyway, I hope to see everyone there.
