Here follows the history of Clan Mightier Than The Sword...
We invented the pen and paper to defeat the chisel and tablet. It was discovered when we first took charcoal out of the fire and used it to write on the side of our roast pig.
From fire cam the invention of a portable writing instrument that could fit in our pocket. Of course, we whittled it down a bit and covered it so that our pockets would remain clean.
When writing instruments like typewriters and those damn laptops were invented, we thought that we were defeated, but it was not so. The real spark was still there and in time it became a flame. We found that with typewriters we could hear them coming with their clickety-clack. In this way they were easily defeated. Laptops, however, were a more resilient foe. Until we found that in time that their long lasting batteries died and they went in search of an extension cord or a plug.
Of all the writing tools, the pen is the stealthiest of them all and we intend to prove this is so!

Also don't forget the invention of the pressurized pen, which allows one to make notes while writing in bed, on a notepad held upside-down.

I was just sorted into this clan as well (at the Write on the Rails event).
I do have a confession, I have used a laptop - on many occasion. But do not let that turn you away from me my friends. I have learnt of it's many weakness - knowledge I hope to pass onto my clan should the need arise.
But in the mean time, I have many more words to write.
