Hello fellow NaNoers! Who here enjoys playing videogames?

If you do happen to like gaming, post your favorite video game and why you chose it (or multiple if you have more than one).

My personal favorite videogame of all time is Ocarina of Time (The Legend of Zelda series). Great gameplay, challenging puzzles, and incredible fun! Other favorites include FFVII, FFX, Harvest Moon, MvC2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Devil May Cry 3.

I was going to say Ocarina of Time. =D Mostly because I can play that game over and over and not get bored. I've beaten it so many times it's second nature now, but I still love playing it. That goes for most Zelda games.

I also loved Star Fox for SNES. Not a fan of the N64 version though. And all of the Super Smash Bros. games are amazing. Oh and I also loved Harvest Moon. I played Friends of Mineral Town for GBA for waaaay too long. XD I've played so many others, but I never got into them has much as that one for some reason.

Old Mario games still entertain me. Mario 64 was fantastic. Oh! And Mario Kart! Any version, although I've never played any for the handheld systems. Love the Banjo games too, and Tales of Symphonia was really good. Clearly I'm a fan of Nintendo. Out of Nintendo, I enjoyed Star Ocean, but I never beat it.

Whew, I could go on for a while.

I would have to say Tales of the Abyss. The story is great, amazing characters, great great fun for hours (and hours and hours) of gameplay!
The whole Tales series are my favs. Great group of games! Starfox (the original hellz ya), Okami, and the whole LoZ series are also way up there on my list!

Mass Effect! I just loved it, and I'm eagerly awaiting the sequel. I must read the novels at some point.

Also, Uncharted 2 and Zelda: Twilight Princess

I'll have to go with Phantasy Star II for reasons of nostalgia.

It's the game that really got me hooked into the video game RPG genre. Although I played Final Fantasy prior to this, PSII was the first game I ever play that had a really deep plot and fleshed out characters. It even made me cry at one point when one of the characters died (mind you I was like 9 at the time).

MASS EFFECT IS LOVE ♥

I don't know if it's my absolute favorite game, but it's pretty damn close, up there with Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Yeah, I like RPGs, is it that obvious?

Ones I can't play because they're too stinking difficult but I still love them:
*Metroid games--Samus kicks arse! Love the worlds/graphics and storyline.
*the newest Zelda game for the Wii-again, beautiful worlds, amazing graphics, storyline.

One(s) I can play:
*Star Fox--the first dino/solo mission one, because I love how beautiful the environments are and how simplistic the controls are. I'm a sucker for simple controls and relatively simple bosses.
*the OLD Spyro games, in the newer ones he looks ugly and you actually have to charge up his breath.

I guess I just absolutely love games that have a lot of imagination/creativity put into them, interactive environments, excellent graphics, and easier gameplay. I just love seeing it, it's so ... cool, people's creativity all coming together. I can't explain it.
Although honestly I haven't played a videogame in at least six months, I sure as heck would if I could. :)

My all time one will probably be a toss-up between Age of Empires and Age of Mythology. (Sorry, no Starcraft!)

I absolutely love playing RTS games, even though I suck reaaaally bad. They're so fun to play. Sometimes I'll say Battlefield 2142 but don't listen to me. :P

I'm old-fashioned. All of my favourites are the traditional adventure games.

Grim Fandango will always be, as far as I'm concerned, the pinnacle of my gaming experience in any genre. There was nothing it didn't have (except, I will concede, sane character controls) - atmosphere, story, characterisation, humour, it was all there. Thoroughly absorbing and still a favourite after eleven years.

Final Fantasy VII. The only game I loved enough to be obsessed with for about three years.

The first Command and Conquer: Red alert, hands down. It's not that great game really, but it's my favourite because when I got it, I was around 13 and it was one of the first games I bought with my own money just for myself. Then I started playing it after school, and a few hours later I was puzzled because my mom came to my room and was all shocked and mad that I was still awake. I thought it was still early evening, but it turned out it was 4 am and I'd been playing 12 hours straight without even getting hungry.

I was primarily a SNES fan years ago so I'll go with Secret of Mana. I was obsessed with that game, played the thing over and over again :) I remember imagining all the possible dialogs between plot points and post game events. Thinking up fanfics before I knew what they were. LOL I wonder if this game is what made me start writing fantasy stories.

My all-time favorite is Final Fantasy XII. Beautiful art direction, enjoyable characters, and absolutely addictive gameplay. I've sunk at least 150 hours into this game and I'm still not tired of it, nor have I completed everything there is to do.

Best. Ever.

Well StarCraft is classic, with the original Deus Ex coming close second, so I'd have to go with that out of principle. If pressed to choose a more recent title, I would say something like Sword of the Stars.

Uncharted 2 is my new favorite I think, such an awesome game. I also like Call of Duty and Age of Empires 2.

The game I've spent most time on in my days is however probably Super Smash Bros on N64. :)

Woo-hoo! I've been debating about ordering the Japanese version for my Wii as well, something inside me keeps hoping they'll just release a US version if I wish hard enough. *sigh*

But, I can't list just one favorite game... Mass Effect, Fatal Frame 2, Suikoden 2, the original Sonic games (yeah Sega kids!), Final Fantasy VIII, and of course, Zombies Ate My Neighbors.

King's Quest 4!!! *ah-hahahaha*

OR maybe Gauntlet? Q-Bert? Bouncing Babies? ...on the Tandy 1000, anyone? *sigh*

I don't know that I could pick a real favorite, though. I have a super-soft spot for the Tomb Raider franchise... but on the other hand, where would I be today without Tetris? LOL.

In no real order:

Sam and Max Hit the Road
Loom
Planescape:Torment
Baldur's Gate 2
3 in Three

I first played Loom and 3 in Three when I was Three years old. (First beat 3 in Three when I was... 11 I think.)

That is a real tough one. Either Half Life 2 or Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time would be on top. Mass Effect, Knights of the Old Republic, and Civilization 3 are also up there in my top 5.

Rule of Rose. Yes, yes, yes, I could dedicate songs about that game. Mindscrew for everyone, gorgeous graphics, compelling plot, suspense, unrequited love, psychological horror, underage lesbians--everything I've ever wanted.
