I'm a 32 mother of 3 and a Christian. This is my first time doing NaNoWriMo, and my first serious attempt at a novel. Mostly I've written poetry and a few essays up until now, although I used to write stories all the time as a kid. I am writing a Christian romance novel that is loosely based on me and my husband (I know that may sounds narcissistic, but I'm trying to stick by the maxim "write what you know") which in a larger sense will be about Biblical idea of love, relationships, marriage, etc. I would love to have some writing buddies, especially among others who are writing Christian books. Thanks!

I'd love to be a writing buddy.
As far as writing what you know though, that's the biggest load of crock that they teach. Write what you don't know. It's how you learn to unlock that creative energy, and discover just what lies within your imagination :)

I'm completely for having Christian writing buddies! I love having a good support system among sisters and brothers in Christ :)
My novel this year is also a Christian Lit, but it's along the lines of a Chick Lit as well. Mainly focusing on the lesson of Matthew 6:34 (which happens to be my life verse). But yes, I'm looking forward to NaNo this year ... anyone who wants to be a buddy of mine, drop me a message! I'd love to chat :)
(PS I love the idea of writing a romance based off of you and your husbands. Sounds wonderful =] )
EDIT
Forgot to add something about myself! I'm a fifteen year old Sophomore in high school, and I participated and won NaNo last year ... been writing since I was in kindergarten, though I'm hopeful that it's improved since then. ;)
Glad to meet you all!

I am a young Christian college student of 20 and though I love Christ and spreading the message, I usually find it hard to find good Christian literature that isn't corny. Hence my own distortion of mythology and angelic lore (God forgive me). It would be nice to have support of any kind. That and getting to know the perspective of other Christians who are taking part in this would be wonderful.

I'm doing the same kind of story, only mine involves demons. ^^;
I'd like Christian writing buddies! It would be a great support system both spiritually and emotionally.
Are we supposed to write something about ourselves?
----------Well, I'm a freshman in college and I have never finished writing a novel.

Okay, I just added the lot of you. Most of you seem quite rediculously young (from my vaunted perspective of 32), but good for you for going at it already. If I had heard of this (if it existed) when I was in college, I would have totalled signed up, but it's likely I wouldn't have succeeded. I've always liked to write bits and pieces of stories that I got idea for, but decided a long time ago that I am not a novelist, and have concentrated on poetry since then. I've begun to think more about fiction lately, though, and when a friend sent me this link it seemed too good to pass up. I'm writing with 3 kids under 5, while teaching preschool to my twins at home, so I'm probably certifiably insane, but this should be fun!

Feel free to add me as a buddy, or to msn @ venasset@hotmail.com ... Just be sure to mention your nano folk if u add me, so I don't panic ;)

I'm doing a young adult born-again novel that has been on my mind for 10 years. It's about time I did it while I can still feel the teenage yars. ...years. (Sorry--a pirate jumped out.)
I'd ESPECIALLY love to talk to anyone who became a Christian without having been born into a worshipping family. Research and all that.

Hi Everyone,
I'd love to have Christian writing buddies. It's my first attempt at writing a novel in a month but I love the idea of giving the creative urge a big jolt and seeing what roles out at the other end.
My MSN is lynmorgie@hotmail.com. Feel free to add me to yours.
I feel like a kid at the beginning of the school year with prestine, newly-purchased exercise books and grand plans to keep them neat and clean throughout the year. It didn't take long for them to become dog eared and smudged, but this is different!!! I'm a grown up now. My intentions of churning out something readable of 50,000 words is going to happen!!!
Well, maybe with your encouragement.

I somewhat meet that criteria. My parents were Christians, but we didn't really attend church regularily until I was ten, and I didn't start believing until I was 11 or so.

Hi ChoKiba,
When you say 'angelic lore', what do you mean? Genesis 6? That serves as an overall 'mytharc' in the series of books that my husband and I write. If you need a buddy, let me know!
BTW, I used to live in Nebraska (Phelps County). Great state!
Blessings,

Hey all, I'm 23 too and writing a Christian Nano that takes place in historical times with a hispanic family. Its something that's not often done in literature as a whole so I'm excited about it. I don't know much about the Civil War or the Mexican-American and later the Spanish-American war, but if anyone has any book suggestion let me know!
also at me on MSN a.mlima@live.com, be sure to tell me you're from NANO!

Pick me! I need Christian writing buddies!
I'm a 21-year-old singer/musician/student and this is my first try at a novel. I have the basic story idea, but that's about all I have... I'm not sure how much to develop and how much to discover as I write-- as you can see, I need help. LOL
I'm attempting to write a Christian romance novel... pretty much a 'clean' romantic comedy. What can I say... happy endings are my anti-drug. LOL
Feel free to add me to your friends list!

Hi! I'd love to have some Christian writing buddies. :)
I'm a 38 year old wife and mom of six. I've written several books, but none have been published - I haven't even had anyone else read them, much less send them to a publishing company for consideration. I plan to change this.
I enjoy writing things that somehow get some Biblical lessons in there. This is my first year ever trying Nano, and I am not yet sure what my novel will be. I've got an idea, but it doesn't seem ready somehow - like it's not quite written yet. I might have to sit on that idea for a little longer and come up with something else for this November.
Good to meet all of you!

Hey guys, sign me up! This is my first NaNo, and I'm getting excited about it! I don't know what I'm going to write yet. I have a couple ideas, but I just hope my creative juices are flowing Sunday morning. : ) I'm a 26-year-old mother of one who has been married for 5 years. Just last year I finished my first novel and I really do believe that anyone can write a book so I'm excited about an opportunity to write one in a month.

I'm adding everyone on this thread as soon as I get a chance! So nice to find other Christians doing NaNoWriMo!
This is my second year doing it, I'm 21 and a junior at the tiniest Bible College in the Northeast (Zion). Hopefully this year my classes won't suffer, and the novel will actually be finished! (it's fantasy, with hopefully Christian elements)
Yay!

but yes, Christian writing buddies would be AWESOME...this is my first time participating in NaNoWriMo (im an 18 year old freshman) and i am SO excited.....
i know what i want my plot to be but i'm still not sure how to fit the Gospel message into the storyline...i am tempted to leave it all out and just write, but that seems to be an abuse of my gifting....aih, i dunno; i'll work it all out!

----------So I have two ideas for NaNoWriMo this year- neither are Christian Lit, though. One is a psychological fantasy and the other a sci-fi parody. Anyway, I'm a sophomore in high school, this is my second year doing NaNo, and I did YWP in eighth grade. Can't wait to get started!
