I was wondering if anyone in the Cameron Park area was willing to step up and plan out some Write-ins. (I would, but I think someone older would be a bit better with organization and planning. Haha.)
So if anyone's willing... I'd love to get some write-in's planned!

Hey, there's no age restrictions on planning write-ins. Seriously, it seems to basically boil down to "I'm picking this time/place" and hoping folks show up. :)

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. Sometimes it takes a couple years before things really become popular.

Just a thought. :)

Yeah, that's true. I don't know; I'm a terrible planner. Especially when I try to find something that works and then I can't show up. Haha. I'm still waiting to see this Friday if I'm going to Sub-sections for Cross Country or not. That will help me get my schedule in order.

I'll see about organizing something if no one else will... But I'd definitely drop in to a CP write-in if possible.

I also live in cameron park. You don't want to see my house though. I don't even want to go to my house never mind show it to anyone else.

Anyway other than the starbucks I have no idea where a good meeting place would be. The library is open until 8pm some days...that's about it. I was trying to find places to study a few weeks ago and tried many places but ended up going down to el dorado hills more often than not.

On an off-topic I'm impressed this web site hasn't crashed/slowed to a crawl a mere two days before kick-off. I think that's a first.

Yeah, my mom wouldn't be too keen on showing off our house and it's forest green carpet either, haha. I think Starbucks would be a good place; it has more space than most of the other coffee shops nearby... not too sure on the library. Especially because if we needed to talk or something, everyone would tell us to be quiet. Lol
Oh, yeah, I haven't experienced that yet, so I'm glad!

Off to school. (I get to brag to my friends about how I set a personal record at league finals yesterday for 3 miles... yay!)

Alright, so according to my coach, no one gets cut after league. That means I still have practice this coming week until subsections in Angels Camp on Saturday. (Ew, that course is dreadful.)
And I don't know what happens after that. So if there are write-ins, weekends would be easier for me to attend. Or something after 5pm. (Tuesdays are good days. Rarely any homework.)

Just giving people a heads up. (:

Whoa, this is amazing...so many Cameron Park wrimos! I'd be up for having people to my place...but you'd have to seriously NOT be allergic to cats.
There are...many cats. (However, there is also a Room With No Windows, for those who like very little distractions indeed).

Haha, don't worry. I'm fine with cats, I have a few myself. (Although the majority have just adopted us for food...)
What general area are you in?

Quite near the intersection of CP Drive and Country Club Drive

Thinking ahead to possible write-ins: weekend of Nov. 14-15 is out, but aside from that, I'm good I think. I don't mind weeknights if it works for everyone else.

just noticed the post re Starbucks...that'd also work, or isn't there a coffee shop in the center near Safeway, too?

Oh, that's close to where I am! (Intersection of oxford and CP drive, across from the airport.)
Tuesday nights are great, and generally Saturdays are my better days. (Sundays I have to get tutored... meh)

Hmmm. There's a chance you're my neighbor (near fairway)

I thought I'd mention another coffee shop: mira loma on cp drive. They don't have very good hours but there's usually room and wifi access. food is good too. Actually they close at 3:30 on weekdays and only open a few hours on saturday...

I'm thinking probably Starbucks or the one by Safeway? (I don't remember the name..)
I'm pretty sure they both have Wi-fi, but I'm not entirely positive. (As for me, I don't even have a laptop...so I'll have to bust the words onto a notepad haha.)
I'm thinking possibly Tuesdays around 5:30? And Saturdays / Sundays whenever anyone else could come?

So, I don't know if anyone's busy today, but I'm up for a write-in later if anyone else is. I'm thinking maybe 4, at starbucks by the new longs? (Now CVS?)
I need to boost my count. It took me about 2 1/2 hours to get to 500 words, because I was using a notepad, messing around with my friends, and lacking the inspiration I needed for the beginning. Haha, what a way to start off the month.
But yes, if anyone would like to come, let me know soon, so my mom can decide if she'll take me or not.

Yeah, but there are people like me who are busy and can't make it up to Placerville :/ I'm sorry. (I have sub-sections for Cross Country on Saturday in Angels Camp... I think I'll use the car ride to work on my story...It's a good hour and a half to get there, and the same back.)

But I was just wondering if anyone was still on for tomorrow. I need to ask my mom if I have physical therapy, which I think I do, so I'll try to work around that as best I can.

Just so I can keep the main calendar updated... Did you guys come up with a definitive day and time and location for a weekly write-in? (Weekly isn't necessary, and spontaneous is fine, too... but if you have a regular time, I'll update the main calendar so other Cameron Park residents can find their way to you.)

I'm thinking Tuesdays at about 5:30 and Saturdays at about, let's say, four? Starbucks seems like a good meeting place.

Ashley- Haha, me too. I was doing homework and doing word wars, only really slowly. Turtle pace!
I don't think I can go to the write-in tomorrow (if anyone else was wanting to go) because I have physical therapy. My injury's gone, but insurance is paying and it feels good to get my back loose. (Which sounds weird, because I'm only what, fifteen? How can I already have a bad back?)

Hahah, yeah sometimes my hip hurts. I feel like an old grandma every single time I think about it.
anyways, getting off topic. I am going to defintely be going tomorrow and for all you people that are wathcing this thread it is going to at 5 30 at the Starbucks across from CVS. I'll double check with Erin to make sure but that is what we were going to do, I think. I'll post later when I do make sure.
(Wow, that sounded long and rambly)

man, i hate the fact that i dont have a car right now. i am stuck at the library of the El Dorado Center of Folsom Lake College, and i have nothing else on the menu for tonight. all i want to do is go to a write-in, but i am stranded! so lame. sigh. i guess it is best that i do some homework anyway, i got a test tomorrow that i should probably study for... sigh. just leave a chair open and put a name tag on it that says "Mike" and i will be there, writing with you in spirit from miles away.

ok, it is a slightly more likely chance that i might be able to make it. so, again, just keep that seat open for me.

It's Mike! :D Haha, I managed to scribble out about another page and a half once my mom came in to check when we were leaving. I knew I had to get /something/ down.
How well did you do?

I FINALLY BROKE 5K! YES!
I didn't make my goal, but I have to say that the write-in did help me. I wouldn't have thought of that when I was here. Change in location helps a lot.
I'm off to bed. :) Good luck, fellow CP Nano-ers!

i got about 800 words down, which was pretty good condidering the amount of talking we were doing. i have a test in spanish today, so i wont be able to do any writing till that is over... well, at least not too much writing. ;)
and congrats on reaching 5k! it is all down hill from there. ;)
