Hello all--

We did it last year and had a blast, so we are doing it again. We'll be camped out at the Panera on Powers from 8 am to 8 pm on Sunday, November 1st.

We will NOT be in the community room, so just look for some table tents. The staff are prepared (and looking forward!) to having us there. We'll do some word wars, help each other get over those first plot hurdles, and have a lot of fun as we start off on our 50K journey together!

Turns out I get the joy of working from 10-4 (unless I can get off early, which I'm going to try)--but I'll be there to kick things off and then join back up in the afternoon.

There will be table tents and hopefully a few die-hards who will keep the group laughing all day long!

Post-Halloween should provide for an interesting crowd of half-awake writing zombies. I'm planning on doing some shopping that morning over at the Super Target so maybe I'll swing by for a late lunch and a few hours of writing.

Oops. In my zealotry I forgot the fact I have church in the morning. But I'll diehard that evening.

I don't plan on being a zombie...but since I'll only get 6 or 7 hours of sleep, such might be the case. (I was going more for Aladin...)

This is my first year doing Nano and while I can't be there all day on Sunday, I'd like to come for a few hours... is there anything particular I should know about Write-in etiquette or is it come as you are, write if you can, hang out, drink coffee kind of thing? :-)

Thanks!
Selkie

This is my first time ever attempting this so I'm definitely planning to come to this write-in for at least a few hours! I'm excited to meet everyone! I guess I have the same question as Celtic_Selkie is there anything us newbies need to know?

Woo hoo sounds like fun to me! I can't make it straightaway, but I'll get there as soon as I can.

Newbies--just show up with your writing materials (laptop, or pen and paper, whatever floats your boat) and bring a few quarters for fundraising, and a few bucks if you want to buy some coffee or lunch or whatever. I'm sure there will be times of quiet writing, some chitchat, and word wars to help us all get started on the roak to 50K!!

I will be there somewhere around 1:30. Have church in the morning and will come directly from there. Ready to get started.

Hello! I aim to get out there for a little while tomorrow but it's hard with the husband working all day and the kids on their own. Still, I'll stop in to say hello and probably stay long enough to have a cup of hot chocolate.

Really looking forward to getting to know the Springs Wrimos...I'm new here (not to NaNoWriMo, but to the area) and really miss my old crowd I used to write with back in Minnsota.

Wishing you all the best!

My "young writer" and I will be there to have some lunch and fight over using the laptop. Although, seriously, he's already writing and I'm already...procrastinating! I'll see y'all later!

Good luck everyone at the write in!

I unfortunately have some left over Halloween guests still sprawled all over my appartment (I'm typing very quietly), so I'm not sure when I'll be freed from hosting and can maybe get over there. If I don't see you all, I have my fingers crossed that everyone can get at least their first 1,667 done today!

Attention!

If you attended the write-in and didn't sign the sheet, OR you attended the write-in and signed the sheet but didn't tell us your word count before you left, send me a NaNoMail! We want to know how many people showed up and what the collective word count was.

We're still here and writing, for another four hours or so. There are about 18 of us here at the moment. Come join us!

Had a great time at the write-in and looking forward to many more. I wrote about 1500 words while I was there so I found it really productive. If anyone here is debating about whether to still go for a few hours tonight...GO! You won't regret it!

Hey, if anyone sees me writing at Panera the next month, give me a shout please. I'm new to the Springs and really look forward to meeting up with fellow writers at these things. I barely know anyone in the Springs yet!

Couldn't make it as a result of health issues. I really wanted to go, so this is a big disappointment. Good luck to all and I hope you reach your goals today!

Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make this event happen. I stayed most of the day from noon onward and it was a great experience--refreshing to find respect for every age group. It made writing the boring first chapters bearable. :)

Sorry, I would have been here sooner, but the shiny saxophone of doom distracted me.

Don't be afraid to write. You can always rewrite it later.
