I know we have tons of write-in topics, but a lot of them start in Longmont and then end up in Boulder, or have a lot of different types of write-in places one can go, but I'd like to try and usher them all into one thread so Longmonters can get everything into order. :3

I've already signed up for the Crepes a la Carte meet-up on Halloween, so I personally won't be able to make anything on Halloween, but feel free to discuss a meet-up that night.

Personally I'd prefer not to go to Ziggi's - it gets pretty crazy in there, and the plugs are few and far between - but of course any plans made are welcome to be posted here.

I'm looking for any places that are open later at night (always written better at night, personally) but any and all ideas and recommendations are welcome. :3

Hope to see most of you in November! Totally excited!

Thanks for starting this thread, frozenfoxfire! It was getting rather confusing!

Here's what I have going on in Longmotn. Add yours to the list!

Because I live in Longmont, I also do write-ins at Vic's Espresso at 600 S. Airport Rd. (303)666-1402. Are there any Longmont WriMos out there who'd like to suggest a time for a write-in or two?

I will host a Meet & Greet at Vic's on Sat, Oct 31st and Sun, Nov 1, from 2pm to 4pm.

I also will be hanging out at Vic's Espresso as Writer in Residence again this year. (Well, same location, different shop. Use to be Deja Brew sniff!) Hours for my residency are Monday and Wed, 10:00 to 12:00 and Sunday 12:00 to 2:00.

The Writer in Residence gig is just to let WriMos in the area come and write or talk about your novels, get advice, or just blow off steam. Whatever makes sense. If we get a diverse crowd, we can break into two tables: one for talkin' and one for writin'.

We can even use the Writer in Residence hours for write-ins. I've already approached the staff about it, and they seem cool. I'll be talking with the owner, Rob, by the end of October to let him know, but I do not foresee any problems with meeting there at any time.

Glad to hear that you will be at Vic's on the first! We hope you will be less scared after you meet the rest of us crazy WriMos in Longmont!

I am expanding the hours on Sunday to Vic's closing time: 6pm. So I will be there from 2pm to 6pm for the Meet and Greet. I hope more people can make it! If not, I'll just get some more noveling done! :-}

I checked out both the Brewing Market and Cafe Luna for late night write-in locations. The Brewing Market is open until 9pm every night, and Cafe Luna is open until 10pm every night except Sunday. The Brewing Market is a very modern atmosphere. Cafe Luna is very Bohemian.

Whose up for a late night writing session on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night? Which location? We can always try a second write-in later in the month at the other or a completely different location.

The details:
Brewing Market
1520 S Hover Rd # A, Longmont, CO
(303) 651-7716
Hours daily until 9pm
Free Wifi
Lots of outlets
Great coffee and decent baked goods

Cafe Luna
800 Coffman St, Longmont, CO
(303) 702-9996
Hours daily until 10pm (except Sunday when they close at 6pm)
Wifi (not sure its free)
A few outlets. Definitely bring a power strip
Great coffee and tea and awesome baked goods

choujiinator, lindseyk and I are all going to be at the meet and greet today. :3 Totally excited for it! Might be at tomorrow's, too, we're not quite sure yet. Might have to if Linds misses the Boulder kickoff. :(

We all live on the complete opposite side of Longmont, unfortunately, but over here we have Perkins, which is open 24 hours Friday and Saturday. There's a back room for large parties if need be, and they're pretty cool with people coming in at all hours to hang around (we do it all the time) so if anyone wants to do a Night Owl sort of thing, we'd be open to it. :3 Just throwing it out there in case someone's interested - we're already planning on dropping in a weekend or two.

Another place (though it's way out by the highway) is the Waffle House. It's always open, so if anyone feels like swinging way out there just to get away and write, throw one of us a line and we'll see if we can join! :D

Just as a heads up for those going to the Cafe Luna write-in!

Caffe Luna is cash/check only. :) I never carry cash, so I know there's at least a couple others who are the same and they don't take credit/debit there.

Also the wireless is free to paying customers, from what I remember.

Thank you, uchiha! The check/cash only is fine for me, but please recommend another late night write-in location that takes credit cards if you know of one. I am sure you are right: many Wrimos may not be able to handle that.

Other late-night write-in locations in Longmont that I know of are Borders, although they're only open until 9pm (boo :() so it isn't very idea for late-night write-ins but it's open later than Vic's, at least. :) And there's always Starbucks. The one on 17th and Hover has a really nice atmosphere for writing and I think they're open until at least 10. Panera bread (119/Ken Pratt and Main) is open until 9pm and has free Wi-Fi. They also have a meeting room, so if a lot of us wanted to get together and do dinner and a write-in, we could always see if we could steal the room to ourselves. :D

I also did some google-fu and called around. :)

The Brewing Market (it's on South Hover past the mall, but before Pike Rd. It's in the plaza across from Oscar Blues which used to be the Silo). It's a cafe as well but I don't know how late they're open until since every time I've called no one has picked up the phone. :\ There's also Buzz Coffee which is on Francis which is off of 9th. They're in the plaza across from the Used Bookstore and the gas station. They're open until 9pm and the staff there is always really, really nice. :) I'm not sure about wifi since I've never gone there to write before, just to hang out with some friends but I've seen people there with books and laptops before, so I assume they're writer-friendly!

Ziggi's Coffe House on Main and 4th is open until 9pm as well but I've never been there, so I can't say if it's any good or not. Cuppy's Coffee & More is on 17th and Main and they're open until 8pm; again, I've never been there but it did have some good reviews on Google, if you trust that. ;)

So while there isn't a lot of places open as late as Luna and Starbucks, a few places are available until at least 9pm!

I like Panera! Good food, pleasant atmosphere. Free wifi. And close to my home! Plus if there's just a few of us we can sit around the fireplace. Cozy.

The Brewing Market on 95th (Hover) and Ken Pratt (the Diagonal) is a good place. I have talked to them. They are open until 9pm. I would be happy to meet you guys there for a late night write-in.

Panera on Ken Pratt east of Main St is possible. I can get there easily by day. I'd like to carpool with someone from east Longmont for a late-night write-in. I can drive. I just don't like to drive only my li'l ol' self around in that big huge car.

When is a good night for these two locales? We can have 2 different write-ins, one at each place...

I'm in the Fox Hill neighborhood just east of Pace, so I can pick you up if you're on the east side too. Any evening would work for me so you tell me when you're NOT scheduled somewhere else.

Also for anyone in the area: I am planning a write-in with my crit group and Nanowrimos at my house on Monday the 9th at 6 pm. If want to come please email me off list suecampbell@suecampbellwrites.com

I'm carpool-able (in Niwot). Which would probably be a good thing, since I don't enjoy driving myself if I don't actually know where I'm going...

I'm right up on Nelson/Airport as well, so I can also drive! :)

Most nights are okay for me, but my work schedule is anything but predictable, so it's kind of touch and go.

I'll drive a carpool from West Longmont/Niwot to East Longmont for an evening write-in at Panera. I can pick up uchiha and Cheryl and anyone else in-between Niwot and east Longmont. I can take a total of 4 people (not including me). I have a Honda Accord, and it fits 3 in the back and one up front in addition to the driver.

How about this Friday, November 6th, 6:30pm to Close at Panera? We can repeat on the 13th if people are game.

If the folks on the east side who know that Panera can host -- sue campbell or frozenfoxfire??? Let me know and I'll get it on the calendar.

I went to Brewing Market in Longmont today, and they are cool! They not only hung up the NaNo flyer, they hung up the "Time to Write" poster in the back. yay! They are excited about us coming to write there. So I propose another Longmont Write-In for tomorrow, Thursday, Nov 5th, from 9:30am to 12:30pm.

Brewing Market is at 1520 S Hover Rd # A, Longmont, CO‎. Their phone number is (303) 651-7716‎.

They have free wifi-- you just have to get the password from the barista. Usually it is hanging on the wall behind the barista station. Their baked goods are the standard ones and they have Burrito Kitchen burritos and uni wraps.

Please feel free to set up other write-ins at the Brewing Market -- they love us so! I am just about at my capacity for scheduled write-ins, so I probably won't plan any more. That means it is up to YOU, you awesome Longmont WriMos, YOU, to schedule more write-ins. Also please use the new Longmont Random Write-Ins thread to post to the forum about random times you find yourself at a good writing spot in Longmont and decide to write and you don't mind company.

For anyone who can't make the morning write-in tomorrow, I'll be hanging out around Vic's tomorrow afternoon! Probably from 2/2:30pm onwards until they tell me to get on out of there. ;)

If you plan on coming in, I'll be sitting at our "regular" Vic's write-in table. I have short black hair and wear glasses for those of you I haven't met. (:

I am here at Brewing Market, around by the back door and the hall to the bathrooms. I have a table tent up and I have my blue Camp NaNoWriMo shirt on.

BTW, the Brewing Market changed their wifi access. It's still free, but you have to get a voucher from the barista to access it, and it is only good for two hours.

Cool! I got 1614 words written! I am struggling with not editing this year because I spent most of the last year rewriting and editing a previous novel. This is the hardest NaNo has ever been for me! But I think I am on a roll now and can finish my daily word count later today at home.

I did not see any other WriMos here at the Brewing Market, so I hope I did not miss you! It has been busy here, but in my corner on the other side of the fireplace towards the bathrooms it has been really quiet and a great writing space.

I am about to take off now. Must run some errands!

I hope the Longmont Thursday night write-in is going as well as the Boulder one is tonight. I count seven of us all typing away madly at our stories! :)

I held a write-in this morning at Brewing Market and it was great for me -- I got a lot done. But no one else could make it. Next week we are doing a write-in at Cafe Luna, which should capture our night-owl crowd!
