I think I've found myself an idea... two days prior to the Nano. Here's hoping I DON'T talk myself out of this one... it's serious, non-God-mocking, and fairly personal in theme, so I probably won't talk much about it except to moan and groan about how I'm not even coming close to doing the idea justice.
I think you should run with the idea you were building about ThisMan! :) Go for it!
Well, I'm still learning the set up in here and I think your talking to me Lol. Yes, I finally settled with the lone character setting. Actually he's not really alone. He has a miniature yorkshire (dog) for anyone who may not understand and his life will be spun around a variety of supporting characters.
I've created a quick format for the story and began building it in my WORD PERFECT program. The beginning is the toughest part, but the ending is pretty well set in stone.
So, I am pretty excited about this story. Unlike my projects in Writing.com this one does not have demons, monsters, aliens, starships, or magical elements. This story will entail a dream come true, pretty well unexpected and the character will instantly be afforded many possibilities. He could make some bad decisions or good ones, we'll let the story tell it.
I'm pretty certain this one will be well beyond the 50,000 word count when finished.
This story has been chewing on my mental strands for a few years and I have let it sit idle. I think NaNo is the perfect tool for getting this one off the ground.
Good luck to all and I'm sure I'm not the only participant who shares the same excitement I have.
Chuck.

Here is a neat link I found that gives some basic plots, just helps to stimulate that grey mass!
