I am very sorry to do this to you but I have to switch the Tino Write-in from Monday to Wednesday, 5-9PM because of a family emergency. When my daughter came home from work two days ago, she found my 2-year-old granddaughter bruised and terribly beaten up in her crib. She immediately called the police and they arrested my daughter's boyfriend with whom she had moved in in Morgan Hill, 4 weeks ago. You can never look inside people. I can't say I ever liked him but not in my worst nightmares would I have imagined what he has done. We are all under shock. My little babygirl is doing extremely well, she is a tough cookie but daughter and grand-daughter need me right now. I am back in the babysitting business. Today we were trick and treating and the policemen dropped off teddybears. This was really nice. As Wednesday is my daughter's day off, I can host the Tino write-in then. Mondays I have to go home. If anyone is available to host Monday, please let Lisa know.
I will see you all at the write-ins. I am glad that I had decided to write a novel for my grand-daughter this year: The Day Supergirl Forgot How To Fly

Oh my gosh, Silvia, I am shocked to hear what happened! Your poor family has already been through so much, and this is just terrible. What a relief that your granddaughter is going to be all right.
Don't worry about the Coffee Society write-in. I will be there this Monday (though only until about 7:00), and I'll see if anyone who shows up would like to be the host. I'll talk to you about Wednesdays.

Sorry to hear about your grand daughter but relieved to know she is otherwise doing well. I am taking courses at De Anza so will pop in for the writein. -Joe

I should have updated this thread with this info before: Silvia will not be hosting at Coffee Society at all so that she can have the time she needs with her family and attend a Wednesday write-in closer to home. So, there is no CS write-in on Wednesdays. But Jen (saraswati) has offered to take over hosting on Monday nights, so please come by Coffee Society then.

Just a note of sympathy--I'm so sorry about what happened to your granddaughter! Of course family has to come first. What a louse, to hurt so small a child.
