Me! I'm a NaNo virgin as well. I'm loving the adventure so far, though. I stayed up last night and got nearly two thousand words written. My husband has taken our kids to play so I'm going to get a coffee from Starbucks (yum!) and write some more!

Have fun and take care -

Sheery

My first time here too. Hoping it will give me the inspiration I need to actually write the darn novel, rather than continually putting it off.

I am new as well. I am so excited for this months project. This will give the push I needed in my writing. I always say I will write a novel "someday" and now this month will be my "someday." I am so glad I found this site. It seems to provide a lot of support. Good luck fellow future and already existing authors. :)

I'm not new, but I swear this will be my first win! 2007 finished deplorably at 10K >.>

Yet another first-timer. I'm actually a songwriter and a poet; i never had the desire to write anything nearly this arduous, but a friend challenged me, and i've been grappling with lyrical writer's block for several months. I tried going out and exposing myself to nearly every inspiring atmosphere I could imagine for 30 nights straight and came up empty, but now under the pressure to write sheer volume, I'm telling the inner perfectionist and semanticist to shut the hell up, and it's coming along better than planned. Still, I have no idea how some of y'all are spitting out 4,000, 5,000, 6,000 words in a day. You guys are freaks and I'm heinously jealous. Excited to meet some other newbies at a write-in soon. <3

I'm a first-timer as well, and started late as well. However, I'm having a blast writing a story I've been wanting to write for several years.

Yup, I'm here for the first time as well. Have been to one write-in and found it helpful. And my family and friends are being very, very supportive!

This is my first year and it's been a mixture of great and crazy so far. Fitting my writing between school and now school and awesome shiny game distractions, it's a miracle I've made it this far. However, I'm loving every minute so far. My goal is to get through this month with 50k words and then take this novel and refine it into a thing of beauty I can actually be proud of. That will take a lot of work, haha.
