Oh gosh. I forgot this forum even existed. Sorry.
Yeah I uhh, just sat down and started typing, and all these words fell out.
I'm rapidly closing in on 100k and that will probably happen sometime tomorrow. I'm almost scared to see what its going to be like at the end of the month.
I had someone mail me the other day, rabid for knowledge at how I'd done so much so fast. I really didn't have any words or wisdom for them. I have no character sheets, no outline, no real plot, either. I just found an idea and ran away with it. I've done bits of research for what I need (google is my friend, but google maps is worth its weight in gold)...but it really wasn't much that I needed because about half the story is stuff I eat, sleep, and breathe, the other almost half is real stuff (memories, mostly), and the remaning bits is just filler nonsense so that if someone would actually bother to read the monstrosity i won't look like a blubbering idiot.
I've really slowed down the past couple days (I hit 50k just about exactly 60 hours after I started, and yes, I did take time to sleep), but that should pick back up in the next day or so. The book seems to be moving in a new direction again.
Anyway, It feels funny to be in the top 10 (and now top of the winners list) for the first time. I'll see if I can't manage to really knock your socks off in the next couple days (providing I can keep my hands off the piano). If not...well. Throw cookies. I love cookies.
