Hey guys, it was suggested Saturday night that we have a post for everyone who was at one of the Kick-Offs (things were a bit hectic and huge at both events this year, so I know it was a bit tough to nail down names, let alone connect them to usernames). So, if you were at either Kick-Off event and would like to let people know who you are for the sake of 'ahhh, yes I met THAT person!' or the purpose of adding new writing buddies to help motivate you throughout the month, tack a reply onto this post! I'll start :)
My name is Fox.
I was at both events, wearing a red NaNoWriMo 2009 shirt on Saturday (with large gaming laptop that overtook table space), and the greenish NaNo 2007 shirt on Sunday (had cute, nerdy husband with me on Sunday :).
See, just like that! Woohoo!

I went to the first event. I didn't get to sit at the 'big kids table'. There were a billion of you! So I sat near to the table with two other lovely writers. I was in a brown sweater and a pink shirt, though you probably could only see the brown sweater. I had my gorgeous Macbook with me, so if you didn't notice me sitting off to the side staring longingly at the other table, then you probably noticed my amazing computer.
I went to the Monroeville meet up at Panera the next day, but church ran over into the second kick-off, so that wasn't a possibility for me. Nice to at least SEE some of you!

That was a great night!

I'm Rose, and I was at the Eat n Park kickoff. I was the one dressed like a pirate (well, sort of, anyway). Apparently, the rickety table leg and water glasses had it out for my tablet, but thankfully no harm was done. Thanks to everyone and their speedy application of napkins. =-)
(and a good time was had by all.)

I was at the Sunday afternoon kick-off. I brought my husband and a tiny baby. I arrived late and sat at the very end of the table, toward the altar.

I got to the table from the bar with beer in hand just after most of the on-time people had been seated, except there were no more open seats for me. So I stole a chair from an adjoining table, and sat at the end, until loxosceles came, bearing a complete new table to join onto our big table, and displacing me from sitting at the the head end.

I was at Eat N'Park Sunday morning, sitting near the end of the table in mostly black with the owl skin on my laptoppie. I'm Katherine. And I named the school after the man who brought Belgian waffles to America.

I was at Eat 'n Park for the midnight kick-off, and I also went to the Church Brew Works event the next day (I think I was one of very few who actually went to both).
At Eat 'n Park I was sitting in the...middle...ish of the big table. I don't remember what I was wearing, but I ordered cheesesticks.
At Church Brew Works I was also kind of in the middle-ish, feeling like the only unattached person there. I ordered the pizza.
Ah well. Hope to see you all at other events!
