No snags yet, though considering the characters showing up are not the ones I originally planned, I may yet hit some when they encounter a plot point and don't react the way I had intended...

I'm doing pretty well, though not as well as I'd hoped by this point. Of course, the month is young!

As usual, little or no time for this, so will be scribbling after 9 or 10pm and losing sleep. IOW, a normal NaNo!

Doing all right. Would like to be a little further down the road, but we've got tonight to look forward to. Things are starting to click.

Today was a total wash - I actually had to work today!
Anyway, I'll be heading to some coffee place in about 5mins in order to get todays word count.
Story wise . . . not sure yet. Still a lot of scenes wanting to get down on paper so that's good.

I've on;y had to bend the laws of physics three or four times so far. pretty average for me although I find myself needing another character which is slightly awkward...I'm waiting to see who shows up.

It's... well, going.
I'm right on target for my word count, but am not happy with the quality of my work. I know, I know that Nano's about quantiy over quality, but for awhile there it felt like I was just chruning out disjointed ideas.
Then this afternoon I went out and got myself a paper notebook. It was like night and day. The scenes came SO EASILY and I think that the writing is halfway decent. So yeah, my hand is killing me, but I'm totally basking in the glow of writerly-success.
Don't let that small word count fool you. I'm off to translate my chicken scratch to type! Woot!

Actually, mine's not doing too poorly. Word count is decent and the plot is coming along. Writing itself is horrible, but who cares?

Almost 7000 words (might have hit it, but the toddler dragged me away from my computer before I did another word count).
I'm having trouble getting the plot that I thought about ahead of time going. They're going to set out on a 3 or 4 week odyssey from London to Ohio in 1883 and I need to give them their starting points and their reasons to go, etc. And mostly they're sitting around thinking about how their life isn't going the way tehy wanted it to and they're boring me silly.
So upwards and onwards right?

I'm doing okay. My story already has almost 30 named characters?? That's a lot to manage. Also, apparently there is some romance in it that I wasn't expecting.
I wanted to be at 10,000 by the end of today. I don't know if it will happen. My two year old just went down and now I feel like crashing myself. It really doesn't work for me to write at night.
Blah. Whatever. I'll probably do whatever Zombiegoat and Tama do, because we're in a knock down drag out word war.

Phyllis ~ any chance of just plopping your characters in one of their interesting spots and writing that scene? just go back later to the transitioning of how they got there.
I find writing in a chronological, linear fashion sometimes works against me in NaNo...

My word count is better than I expected and I'm just getting started for today.
Thus far, I had one supporting character hijack my storyline with awesome results. I think she wants to be a major player in this novel. It ain't happenin'!! BAaahahawahhhaaaa!!!
I love it when this happens.

Well, I changed the main character's name to include the middle name. Word count went up! Other than that I'm trying to make it to 10,000 words by Friday and weaving together a slightly coherent plot.

Kaleigh Dawson is being ridiculously stubborn. She wants the story to be about her transformation into a vampire, not about what I had planned. >_> I'm a little irritated, because I don't know how I'll get out of this.

I'm meeting my daily goals so far, surpassing them by 100-200 words. So I'm happy on that account.
Otherwise, I'm struggling against all my ingrained writing training. It's been hard not to stop and revise as I write. I think it will get easier once I'm more into the story. Introducing all the characters and plot is really tough, but I also think it's the hardest part.
Good luck to everyone!!

I've hit a couple of tiny snags, but worked through them pretty smoothly. The problem with my outline was not figuring out transitions from one thing to the next. But things are smoothing out pretty well as I consult my references and whatnot.
My word count goes up so much more when I've got my best friend sitting next to me to help give me ideas (She knows the characters as well as I do by this point). But I'm reaching my daily goals and then some. Gotta love having those squirrely characters that don't know when to shut up. <3
EDIT: I'm pretty sure my computer is conspiring against me. It keeps trying to fix one of the characters' names into some kind of regular noun.

Not as well as I'd like, but at least I have a better idea of where this story is going than I did when I started. And I did the dishes, went grocery shopping, cooked something new for dinner and leveled my MMO character, so um...yeah.

Reason,
that sucks. but hey, better to start fresh with something you at least enjoy than try to drag out something you hate. what is the new plot about?
i've been doing fine with so far. my main character just got abducted and ate some weird food, but i dont know where he is being taken yet or why. i wrote a preface to it, which probably has some clues as to the reason, but yea... we will see how it fleshes out.
i have been having trouble with not editing as well. it just hate when i cant spell a word right to save my life. it slows me down a bit but i am still able to meet my word count.

I've been doing great, though things are going slow in-novel-time; my characters are like "o, hai! let's just spend 10,000 words getting to know one another", the lazy procrastinators. xD Also, I keep having to remind myself that December is for editing because my inner editor periodically has fits and whines which is rather aggravating, but I push on! It helps my word count that I have people I'm racing to 50K with, nothing like a little competition to keep motivated to write!

It's especially hard when you go from nitpicking your work all year long to having a month where you're not supposed to, it definitely feels like going against the grain; but on the other hand, it seems to work since I get way more writing done than normally. There's a method to this madness, I see! ;)
Haha, yep! It's certainly great for word count, and yay for secret competitions! I tend to consider myself in a competition with everyone on my buddy list so I'm kept busy that way. "Oh, look, so-and-so's passed me! Must. Write. More!" xD I'm a slave to my competitive spirit, I am, especially when in the back of my mind I'm also thinking "gotta beat those Finns!" ;)

Evening phone conferences plus a full work day every day plus the (temporary) damage done when I tried to extend XP Home Edition's file sharing capability last night plus no time to think about my story before I showed up (late, 4pm) at the Naked Lounge on Sunday plus I dunno what else (did I mention the 10-hour workday?) has me undecided whether to go slowly for fun or just sit here and whine about it. ;-)
