Just out of curiosity, are there any other single parents out there trying to basically do everything yourself and fit in NaNo as well?

Hi Legion,

You might not be getting replies because your thread title doesn't really tell anyone what you're looking for. I can tell you that there's a single parent doing NaNo in Manchester, though: http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3267080 . Hopefully you can find a single parenting NaNo buddy. If not, come and join us in chat for some encouragement!

HI Canoegirl,

Well, I thought maybe someone would read it. Never had a post on any forum go ignored before lol but that's ok. :) I was kinda hoping for someone nearby ( 7 hours difference makes things kinda hard so sit and write together. I used to date a guy in Taunton so I know from experience), chat never works or is empty whenever I go there ( probably because I can't get any early enough or only for a min when I can ) and I can't make any of the events so I guess I'll just be odd man out lol

Thanks though Canoegirl! :)

Well, I'm not single, but I am a mom, and currently have a sick little boy to take care of while trying to write as well. I've noticed in past years, though, that it seems to help a little to have a routine. Get home from work/daycare, then get dishes in to wash, make dinner, and take care of the kid(s) for a while until bedtime. Then, stack the new dishes for the next day and write like the wind... That's what I usually do.

I did read your post Legion, but I'm not a single parent :(. I live alone, so I'm distraction free :D, well, except from people on the internet which doesn't include the wrimos in the chat room because they would be making sure I'm writing :). I'm sure you're not the only one out there.

Sorry, I wasn't really communicating clearly. I'm sure people read it! I just meant that the title might not jump out. (I also thought I'd bump it up the list for you.) Clearly folks are reading and replying, so yay!

I'm a single parent who's trying to do everything and write a novel on top of it.... Then again, it's November 5th and I don't have a gosh-darn word written yet.

Wait, wait... "The".

There, I have one word written now. With that one word, I now have direction and purpose for my novel. That was easy! lol

{ahem, back on topic}

I'm hoping to get some *actual* writing done next week when the kids go to their dad's. :)

hey,

just wanted to let you know you are not alone. I am a single parent trying to go to University, work, handle my daughters problems in school and do Nano as well (hence my very low word count;))

Keep it up! we can do it!
