GUYS!

right now we're only 900 words away from moving up a rank!

96 United States :: Massachusetts :: Western Mass 201,911
97 Australia & New Zealand :: Perth :: North 201,020

And 95th place is only 5000 words away!

We must overtake!

I'll be putting more than that on in a few hours!

Okay, in about six hours :-( *sigh* why does work have to happen? Ugh.

All my colleagues are in the meeting room celebrating Melbourne Cup, I'm wishing that I had my yWriter and documents here.

I checked earlier the word count hadn't clocked over. Today's been a slow day today. Re-writing some wikipedia information on various plants and such. Gah. Wound up with 3,500 worth of words taken from wiki and only 2,200 were usable.

I've valiantly been trying to get my count for today - but work keeps on rather selfishly requiring my attention. did manage to knock off 500 words earlier. Hopefully when the updates i'll have kicked in a few more

If my Uni assignment counted towards Nano, I've done a good 4000 words in total today :p Instead, I'm just under half of that for my actual Nano story. Not that it's such a bad thing, I've written some good stuff here I reckon, and it's still ahead of what I should be for the month so far ... just. Still plenty of time tonight.

And am I the only one who had no interest at all in 'that' race?

Nope, me too. I got called "a boring old fart" (I'm 28) for not wanting to join in the merriment at work. Honestly, the acting office manager harassed another girl because she didn't have a fascinator on - he went so far as to offer her money to go buy herself one! She felt so bad about it that she and I went for a walk to get her a flower to put in her hair. I could maybe understand if they'd put out an invite a week ago and she' d accepted, but the invite was late yesterday afternoon.

Seriously? What are these people on?

how retarded. I too, got bullied to participate in the office sweepstakes, but showed them all but coming third. HA HA HA The guy who came first wasn't going to do it either and was also bullied. so we were quite pleased with ourselves when we got an email saying we won.

According to our region stats our region has now written 292,242 words or 3,845 per nano-er. Both Dekalb and South Perth are sitting around 3,600 odd per nano-er.

If we can keep up the pace guys, we can win this thing.

I'm hoping to get another 1300 words down by midnight tonight. I know it's crazy, but I started off at the end of day 1 with 5000 words, day 2 I managed it. I might as well try for a trifecter (spelling?).

However, the official nano score board hasn't ticked over to reflect the above.

Cool. I've added 2147 today, aiming for another 850 to bring me to 13000. I might make even more, since I've just decided not to bother with making dinner . . . I can see this getting dangerous.

I think I'm gonna have to wrap up this scene, though. It has the potential to become Very Hard Work if I don't Become Ruthless.

Ha!
Hand writing and then transcribing it to my computer has slowed me down on my usual production, I may need to borrow a laptop next write in. Got 2220 words up and still two pages in my exercise book to type into my computer.
Wednesday you will see better production (I hope) as work flows straight from mind to computer with no delays trying to read my own despicable writing.
Well done everyone for your heroic efforts. You are all carrying me.

Lois, put in your handwritten word count. After all handwritten or typed it ALL counts.

Go Lois! Hnadwriting then transcribing, wow - that's old-school admirable! But I can almost guarantee your word count will go up when you write straight to the computer, because it takes less effort - and therefore you add a lot more of that valuable word-count "junk" (filler) that you would never waste the effort to handwrite!
