Thanks to NaNo, I tried something new today. I took my Neo (Alphasmart) to the gym. It balanced perfectly on the treadmill and I could exercise at a decent pace/incline while typing. Great little investment. I've had it for a couple of years and I love it.

Sounds like a great idea! I usually just write as much as I can between classes, and do a lot of it at night before I go to bed. I set myself a goal, and I don't go to bed until I get there.

I wrote about this on my LiveJournal, but I have found that several small writing sessions, using Scrivener, has done wonders for me. I have been able to write at various places in the overall story, and it seems to be taking the pressure off of me. Using iDrive and a thumb drive, I have always had access to my work and I have found that I am typically good for around 750 words or each time I open it up.

I was pleased that I figured out how the story ends, and some other plot points along the way. This current system seems to be working for me. It keeps me moving forward, which is the goal of this.

I just started using Scrivener this NaNo (They offer a NaNo specific trial license, I learned) and I love it. The full screen view is wonderful for the easily distracted and I'm using Dropbox to keep my document backed up and synced between my laptop and my desktop. If you have a Mac, I highly recommend it.

Hurrah! Another alphasmart user!

I've had my Neo since last November and I love it, too. So handy to haul to all sorts of places. This year I think mine gets to go to work with me (for lunch breaks only) and on a plane to Pennsylvania. Several planes, actually. Stupid layovers.

And it is probably good for me to know that I could use it while on a treadmill, since I usually end up channel surfing to find NCIS instead.

I usually write instead of doing homework, and I write during all my classes. I spend a lot of time writing at the cemetery (by hand, since I don't have my own computer, sadly)
