Hi y'all,
I'm looking for a word for trees or forest or woods - a word which describes a big area with trees in other words. I would prefer to use a Victorian dialect but am not overly fussy.
Thanks!

I can probably dig one up for you, if you want. I'm a linguist, and though I don't work with langs from Australia, I know people who do, and/or the places to find the info. I'll try to do it tonight, but if it's not in my work library, it may take a day or two - is that alright?

Kooro communities can be pretty sensitive about the use of their language etc. I suggest you have a look at the Victorian Aboriginal Corporation for Languages website www.vaclang.org.au

there may be some useful links there, Both on the links page and the resources page.

Thanks for the responses.
I definitely agree with your point about respect and I understand that it may be considered rude to use the word, although I am planning on using it to name a national park in my story. The website was really useful. :)
