Quiet in here tonight - does it mean everyone's on a writing roll or taking a night off?
Done well myself today, above target, still have an hour before I'll hit the hay. Fingers crossed that my little boy's gastro has calmed down and I have a poop-free evening!!

Yes here's to a poop-free evening for you BBel!

I went to dance class straight after work and am only just home so I'm wondering if today is a write-off (so to speak) which means I'll be officially behind one day of word count. Boooo! Am scared I won't catch up. Might try to get a few paragraphs down before bedtime, and at least be less behind ...

It's been a quiet writing day all round, and then I missed drinkies because of a family emergency, but I hope to have 18,000 by 10.30pm.

Of course, everyone's at drinkies. I'm down here in sunny Gee-long so had forgotten it was on. Really should have had my own personal drinkies - wonder how that would have affected the word count?!

(sigh) I know I won't get a second to myself tomorrow to do any writing, even at lunchtime. Clearly I need a new career.,

I got 2500 words done today, which doesn't feel like much compared to some of you, but it's more than I've written in a day before and it's brought me up to a fairly decent total so far - I think for my first NaNo, I'm doing OK.

Got a lot more written once I had my office back and wasn't tapping away next to a television at full volume.

At least I'm still batting/writing above the average.

Have only written 845 words today. Ugggh! thats only just over half what I should be doing. Had limited time to write and just could not get anything written when I did sit in front of the computer. I think time pressure is bad for my writing, the minute I told myself I needed a certain number of words in an hour my muse ran away and hid. Now I am falling asleep in front of the computer and wondering if I should keep going tonight or sleep and make up the words tomorrow.

Great job. Remember that some of us aren't working or studying and have a lot of time to ourselves. My house is also a mess, I've been living on baked beans, and my whole body hurts.

Tomorrow is errands and housework day so I will *try* to stay off the computer.

Today didn't go anywhere near as well as I'd hoped. For starters I didn't get to sit down til 10:30am. The beloved rang up at quarter to twelve needing me to transport him to the prep school from work. When i go there his meeting had been cancelled so we went out to lunch instead. Got home and had about an hour and a half to sit and write. then I had to pick kids up, do shopping, take kids to thepool and then prepare a birthday dinner for my now 9 year old daughter. Then after cake and clean up beloved brought out the new Star Trek movie he'd just purchased so we sat and watched that til now... and I'm too tired to do anything but go to bed. :(

All the same I think i managed about 2 and a half hours of writing and added another 3000 plus words to my total so it wasn't a dead loss.

My characters are doing more then just behaving themselves. I'm really enjoying getting to know them and wittness their personailty and relationships developing. the actual writing part so far has been fun!

Tomorrow I'll have to ferry beloved to another business meeting at lunch time, but besides that hopefully I'll get another four hours of writing done.

On a related note I've just had a shipping notification e-mailed to me that an item I've ordered from korea has just been posted out. Yay!!!

Quiet day. Early start at the ER and an afternoon meeting, then I had to study, and when I sat down to write I realised I had to think my plot through VERY CAREFULLY.

So most of the time was spent sorting out the minutae of the plot. It's very complicated because there are four factions and at least seven major players, and everybody's pretty much planning something behind everybody else's back. Also, the way I write, dialogue is largely driven by body language and tone; what is said is merely information. As a result, I have to "choreograph" scenes, and note how the body language between people evolves as their motives develop... arrrrrgh.

Basically I set out all my upcoming scenes carefully. But it's good to go now and after I finished, I was able to write much faster.

I will definitely reach 25000 tomorrow!

I managed to get my assignments done, do an online exam in less than a quarter of the time allocated, worked, helped sort out a D&D character for a new player, and squeeze 2218 words out. I am so incredibly proud of myself! I am still behind word count, and I am exhausted and have an early morning and have to deal with centrelink, but I will see what I can manage tomorrow.

Brilliant work everyone! I know that when you struggle to get something done, it sucks and you feel like you haven't acheiveed anything, but you have. Every word you write is one closer to your goal, and it's early days yet! Keep up the good work, keep sitting at the keyboard and coaxing/bribing/tying your muse up, whatever works. You can do it!

By 10:30pm I hadn't had a chance to write, so I decided to try out the Write Or Die Desktop Edition that my fiance let me buy yesterday. I set my goal to 1k in 1 hour (I figured I probably wouldn't even get that far since it was so late) and to my surprise I hit 2069! GO ME! So my total is now at 8231 and I'm uber confident that I'll be passing the 10k mark tomorrow. I'm so proud of myself!

Hey all,

It's Day 5 at my side, but thought I should join in all the same.

I had to make a day trip to Canberra the day before and I thought I'd be so behind on the wordcount. Surprisingly, 8 hours waiting at the quiet Canberra airport made my story soar to over 8k. I'm so happy and proud (and exhausted).

The whole of today shall be dedicated to staying in with some sushi. Hopefully I'll have something good to hand in by the end of today ;)

Go, all!

I got my quota done, albeit mostly on the train on the way to drinks. It's gonna be a real struggle to get the quota done today, though. I have to write part of a uni essay to get its quota done for today as well. And go to the gym. And get my hair cut.

One thing really making me want to pump out a few thousand words in a day, though, is the fact that one of my friends has already hit the 10k mark.

You could have said a word, but you turned away. Or do you always act in such a passive way?

I only managed about 100 words yesterday before going to bed early. A day at work plus attending Drinkies wiped me out a bit. Still on track, though.
