I can't get my brain to work! I even took a writing leave of absence yesterday to allow time for some thinking power, but it seems I'm all out of creative juice. So here it is, almost six in the morning and I've only written 187 words. Blegh

So my MFC got off the charter bus she was supposed to be taking to start a new life at a family shelter in another city. But she has an obligation that needs to be met first, so she gets off the bus and hides out when they make a pit stop at a gas station.

A cashier at a nearby outlet clothing store finds my MFC and manages to wriggle out enough of her story and offers her a place to stay for the night.

So it's the next morning. The bus she got off of was found as a burning husk and none of the passengers survived -this was on the news that morning. My MFC is stuck at a nice stranger's house who is preparing a nice breakfast.

Where do I go from here? The obligation to the MFC's sister is the key motivation here. She feels her sister is in danger and needs to make her way back. And I should mention she's 17 years-old in case that makes a difference.

On my drive to work I had a moment of clarity. I have to take a backword step in my story (no, I'm not going to delete anything) and work out the kink that started the whole tangle.

I made things too easy by creating an unrealistic situation. :) Now I get to play the evil one and stick it to my MFC. muahahaha

Here's hoping to a better word count progression!

Sounds like a flash back iswhat you need - maybe a flashback to explain why she got into this situation in the first place?

I'm hooked, I'd read it!
