I thought I'd share some cool quotes about writing in case anyone needs some inspiration. Feel free to share any of your own!

  • "The way you define yourself as a writer is that you write every time you have a free minute. If you didn't behave that way you would never do anything." - John Irving
  • "The skill of writing is to create a context in which other people can think." - Edwin Schlossberg
  • "Inspiration is wonderful when it happens, but the writer must develop an approach for the rest of the time... The wait is simply too long." - Leonard Bernstein
  • "A writer is a writer not because she writes well and easily, because she has amazing talent, because everything she does is golden. In my view, a writer is a writer because even when there is no hope, even when nothing you do shows any sign of promise, you keep writing anyway." - Junot Diaz
  • "Writing a book is like driving a car at night. You only see as far as your headlights go, but you can make the whole trip that way." - E. L. Doctorow
  • "Why do writer's write? Because it isn't there." - Thomas Berger

*Raising children is like being pecked to death by a duck (Not very inspiring, but it does seem to fit my life this first week of NaNo.)

*Creativity is not a pretty sight.

*Memory is the power to gather roses in winter.
