I just bought a copy of the NY Times bestseller "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen. I was in Sam's yesterday looking at the books and a complete stranger (never met an incomplete stranger, have you?) recommended the book so passionately, I had to buy it. I told her about NaNoWriMo and that several best sellers had come from the contest.
So I got home and looked up Sara Gruen. Guess what. Yep, "Water for Elephants" was a NaNoNovel first! And it is being made into a movie! She said it was a really bad first draft. Check this out http://www.nanowrimo.org/eng/node/3141870
Happy Noveling!

P.S. That sounds like a book title: INCOMPLETE STRANGER

God said, "Choose Life!" Inner Editor replied, "Don't say 'choose.' That's too vague. Why not say ‘engage'?" "Go 'way!" God boomed most emphatically. "Writers engaging life have no time for NaNoNoveling. I love their crap. So leave them alone, too!"

Check this out for a list of NaNo Authors with books in print. Looks like several are still NaNoNovelling.

That's awesome. I'm self published with a couple of Bible studies....so I'll be using a fake name to publish IF I'm every published for my fiction work. I mean, my pastor knows what I write....and he's okay with it, but the "higher ups" in our org might not offer to pick up my work again. They offered to publish my studies, but they wanted my rights which led to me telling them h#ll to the no. LOL
