A friend at my parents church is selling their townhome for cheap and my parents might buy it for my sister and I. It would go in my name. The monthly cost would be about the same as rent with insurance cost factored in, and everything else. They currently pay most of the rent as it is. So, Dad is making the calls today and trying to close on it before December 1st.
It will give me a better place to NanoWrimo, never mind the fact that NanoWrimo would almost over before we moved in, and everything would be in boxes and all.
It would give me a quiet drug free area to live in, we think.
It would give me NO neighbors pounding across the floor for 3 hours at time because of kids.
No AC, but we would put that in when it comes time. Probably ASAP before Spring prices kick in.
Which means that I'll have to start packing while I write. Fun! And, I do mean this all ways you can take - both fecitously and with joy and wonderment.
I do have some things already packed, as the apartment was small enough that I never bothered unpacking some boxes. And, I do have lots of games in bags because I packed them earlier when a friend of mine was going to spend some time there. So...I won't have too much to do. It will just take time. I'll also have to hide my cords in my car so that mom doesn't touch them or I won't have internet access at all because she tends to lose cords everytime we move. lol She is still trying to find my sewing machine cord and is going nuts. I'm not worried, as that cord we know is in her house somewheres. The other cords....for dvd, ect. never were found but they are easily replaceable and were replaced.
Okay, now that I've just wrote another 1,000 words that don't count. I'm going to pretend to write on my novel. I've a write-in at Panera's in Brooklyn Center to go to where I will get something wrote. My novel is changing to be Jyz and Kyt in England as France confuses me. They shop there. I'm also having Jyz be a student in a boarding school who just happens to be a rich billionaire with his own job. I'm too stuck with how the story currently is. So, I'm writing out all the rich royalty who know him and making his contributions to the needy in their various countries be strictly anonymous.

LOL Yay for a house!
I've moved at least once a year for the last six years and am looking forward to not moving for a few. It'll be nice to finally unpack all those boxes that have been stuffed in a closet some where for so long you don't even know what's in them anymore. I love my little townhome here in Eagan with no neighbors and all the peace and quiet I could want. Good luck and enjoy!

Congratulations! I love that new house feel! (and we need to move.) I hope all goes well with the selling and buying to get you in with no hassle. I'll see you later this evening at Panera's.

Thanks everyone! My dad is co-signing on the loan, and his credit extremely good, so we'll get approved no problem. We'll probably end up double rent though as apt. takes 2 months notice and we'll be approved, in and out in less than a month IF my dad keeps up on the lenders. Last time we tried doing this, the lenders never called back and dad changed his mind. This time, however, he wants to go with it as we found a house thats the right price, that will be cheaper in the long run as rent goes up every year regardless. :D

Huzzah! My wife and I couldn't have been happier about our living situation than when we finally bought our place in Hopkins. Congrats! Enjoy it... Nothing compares to having a home where you don't have to answer to a landlord.

congrats! I bought a house with my twin sister last year and it was BY FAR the best decision. It's so nice not to have to bow down to landlords.

Thanks everyone! I'll be trading the landlord for an association, something I wasn't going to do. lol
The ceiling fan in the loft (3rd bedroom) will inherit a lovely soft loft bed unless I figure out how to move it over to fit me. ;) Its not really a 3rd bedroom like its listed. but, technically, because it has a closet, you can call it a bedroom even though you walk through it to get to the real bedroom. It also has too many doors and openings to be practical as nothing fits anywheres because there is something in the way. But, after my sister and her son moves out, it will be perfect for me and I'm willing to wait. ;)
What's funny is that every time I watch House Hunters, they all dis the wallpaper and say that just has to go. However, in this house, I absolutely love the wallpaper in the bathroom. LOL I would have choose it!
I'll have to petition the association to ditch the Juniper's because I'm very allergic to them (ashtma). But the place is within walking distance to Salvation Army, Panera's and Walmart, and remains walking distance to Dunn Bros.. :D This is why I'm going with this place. Also, when my sister graduates, she might get a job that allows her to move out or I might marry someday and move out. So, I think we can make the space issues work. :D Its only 32 sq ft larger than our apartment but arranged such that our apartment almost gives us more usable space. Weird how that is. But, we do get our own washer and dryer! No more lugging laundry to parents. And, because I'm the space issues expert, I'll find a way to make things work - even if it means taking over a portion of Gaerlen's room and putting in storage shelves for boxes.
