The main crisis at the end of my story has to do with an evil creature, i'm looking for a creature who is inherently evil in religion - don't care which religion it comes from as long as its not Satan/devil/lucifer etc. i have another plan for him.

Is there another destroyer of worlds within any of the world religions? if not, i'll have to imagine my own.

To be fair, it's not Satan who destroys the world. He's involved but it's god's idea. Also Yeshua does this whole thing with flames and legions of angels and so forth.

There's always Cthulhu. You could base your evil off've something Lovecraftian. You could draw from Azathoth or Nyarlathotep, the Crawling Chaos, the God of a Thousand Faces. I mean, when it comes to a generalised Big Bad you don't get much Bigger or Badder, or World-Endier, come to that. Of course it would make it rather difficult for your protagonist to triumph but still. There's also the added advantage that Cthulhu would totally be able to eat Satan.

My major knowledge is in Pagan mythologies, and unfortunately there's not a lot really "inherently evil" I can help you with there. I mean, there are entites that are opposed to the gods, and ones who are detrimental to our lives as humans, but not inherently evil. I wouldn't say so, anyway. There's the whole Fire Giant thing for the Norse lot, which might be more relevant for you as they're actually involved in the end of the world.

Thanks. they don't really have to be innately evil just have to want to destroy the universe. that's all. i think you have to be innately evil to do that.

Well, I dunno. It might need to be destroyed.

I think if you're following basic instincts, if you are doing what you do simply because that's what you are, you can't be evil. Like snakes biting things bigger than they can eat. It's what they are.

There's some very ruthless gods within the Hindu religion.

Close!

Legion is 1000 individual demons who are all simultaneously possessing one person. That is why it speaks in plural, "We are Legion." Second, like most Christian demons it is inherently weak for they have already been defeated by God through Jesus and therefore they have been defeated by a human. To exorcise all you need to do is say, "In the name of Jesus, get out!"
