Getting WriteRoom is totally worth it; not worth $25, in my opinion, but free? Heck yeah. Particularly when combined with QuickCursor, it's amazing (I'm editing this forum post in WriteRoom thanks to the magic of QuickCursor).
On the other hand, don't get too excited about Mariner Write. Even if it's unlocked, it's years out of date with the competition. Nisus Writer Pro and Mellel are far better choices for Mac Word alternatives.

Awesome, thanks for sharing! I love WriteRoom, but I can only afford the iPod Touch app. This is such a great offer :D

Oh thank you so much! I'm a little short on cash and I've just recently made the move to Mac so any Mac applications I can get on the cheap is great!!

Thanks for sharing. I also couldn't justify paying for WriteRoom but I do love it.

I’m another one who couldn’t justify paying for WriteRoom. I think Scrivener and Pages have better polished full-screen modes. That said, I’ll keep WR around just as a curiosity.

I can't live without Scrivener, which also has a WriteRoom-style full screen mode, but one of the apps in that bundle, ShoveBox, is dead useful if you're used to collecting a lot of articles, notes, Wikipedia articles, etc. for your writing. I initially tried putting all that stuff into Scrivener but it slowed it down. ShoveBox works well for it all. Just drag it to the icon on the menubar and it's stored for you.

Try it in conjunction with QuickCursor, and you'll see WriteRoom's actual awesomeness. Full screen alone isn't all that hot; full screen for text just about anywhere on your system is extremely useful.

These are not free. They are offering 30-day trial periods with option to buy. They don't state this until you have the items installed.

You have to register at MacHeist in order to get the serial numbers to unlock the apps. Which are indeed free. :-)

Unfortunately it seems like half of the software offered require 10.5 or greater, and I'm only running 10.4. WriteRoom and ShoveBox work, but TinyGrab and MarinerWrite don't. Bummer. I think I'll get a lot of use out of ShoveBox for collecting novel research and the like, but WriteRoom just seems like an abbreviated version of Scrivener (which I've fallen in love with) so I probably won't use it.

Personally, I like WriteRoom a little better than Scrivener's fullscreen mode. It's just that little tiny bit simpler, without any of the options to modify the settings popping up at the bottom of the screen. I will take any opportunity to distract myself from my writing, even if it's just playing with settings, and WriteRoom doesn't even allow that much when you're in fullscreen. Plus, I like the dark background with light test, which is easier on my eyes for extended writing sessions.

For anyone interested, recently Mariner Write became unlocked even though we never got 500,000 downloads, thanks to an agreement between the MacHeist Directorate and Mariner Software. So everyone who's gotten the bundle should check their receipts. I know of quite a few people on the MacHeist forums who are doing NaNo, so it's no coincidence that they included WriteRoom and Mariner Write.
Sadly, this all comes a little late for me; I got WriteRoom from another bundle, and when faced with deciding between Mariner Write and the fabulous Nisus Writer Pro, I ended up getting the latter instead. Nisus Software is actually putting Nisus Writer Pro and Nisus Writer Express for sale at 20% as part of the "One Finger Discount" promotion: http://www.onefingerdiscount.com/

That's not sad, that's a stroke of luck. Nisus is a far better word processor than Mariner Write.
