And I had two hour raid tonight in Warcraft where I forgot to turn off Growl until right at the end and came away with a shiny PVP necklace that I'll use once a quarter. Score :) Which means I got in my word count in an hour and a half of mostly dedicated writing. Yeah, I'm scared too.

Alright. Finally I'm back on track with my 'day behind' program. HA!
I actually wrote about 1300 words today, so that's pretty good. NaNo is like working out...You can't just start with the 1667 word weights, you have to work up to it.
Maybe someday I'll even be able to do more than one rep! :P
Alright. I'm going to bed before I stop making sense completely.
P.S. If we could count all the words we wrote on the forums...I think I would already be done. :D

Heh heh...
I'm catching up to where I should be. I'm trying for 100k, as I think I might've said before, and I should have 20k today. Not doing terribly bad for that. I think I can do 5k in a day. If I actually write. ^_^ I have a terrible habit of getting distracted by chatting or these FORUMS. Cough.
But the write-in today (or yesterday, heh) was helpful. I think I got in a thousand words or something (which is actually pretty sad, since I was there for like four hours ^_^). Ouch. Okay, don't think about the fact you only got that many words in that many hours, Gina.
Now. Back to writing. Really. I always get more writing done when the internets (most, anyways) are off (by my dad). Hah.
Oh...and I actually think I might be getting what my youngest brother has. I hope not. I don't want to be pukey! *sniff*
But...I'm still writing this post because I remembered that the Wizzrad has entered my story. He's great. He has a bright blue beard and is *always* being dreadfully klutzy and almost killing himself. He is so enthusiastic, too. He's a totally fun character to write for. And he has now been in three of my stories. Oh, and he also has this conspiracy theory about buttons (the kind you press, that is). They are totally out to kill him.
If you read this whole post you get extra somethingy points. Or maybe not. I'm really not sure. You can decide.

My goal is to write at least 709 words today bringing me up 12500 (and a nice 25% of the way to the finish line).
Yesterday, I finished the part of the story that I had mapped out with plot points and that made it easier for me to keep going as I knew what I was writing towards. Now I have to fill that middle section either with some wacky turns or creamy nougat. Mmm nougat.
Anybody up for a write-in tomorrow afternoon?

It's scary how fast the word count caught up to me. I had a great sprint at the beginning, thanks to the write-in at the Merriam Park LIbrary (Thanks, keiara!)(I'm not sure of the spelling, sorry!), and was feeling smug about being ahead, but life intervened and I slowed down considerably. I'm hoping for another sprint this weekend.

I'm currently the furthest behind person posting in this topic. *sigh* It's probably good that I'm not going out tonight like I usually do on Friday nights. I can spend my evening at home. Writing. Maybe the characters will finally win the lottery.

I was pretty excited last night when i realized how close i was to 10k. I'm even more excited now that i know there are drinks available.

Yeah, I've already made today's goal - hand me one of those drinks.
Actually, I had to work ahead yesterday because today I'm not likely to have much time to write. I have to work both jobs today and depending on how the second one goes, I may not get off until10:00. And since both jobs are interpreting (very brain intensive work if you don't know), I'm not likely to have more than two brain cells left to rub together when I get off, and I'm going to need those to drive home.
In other news, I managed to write passed the point that I'd thought about yesterday. That made for an interesting hitch at the write-in. Everyone else was tapping away furiously and I had no idea what came next. So I bopped over here, read the bit on writer's block and went back to my story to add another character. Now I have my MC interpreting a negotiation session between farmers and a Griffin (who likes old, not young, sheep). That will get me a long way in the word count I'm sure. Almost as long as the cultural mis-match I put in the last chapter that dragged an addition 600 words from that scene.

Note to self:
In future, do not let nice nurse on the flu hotline talk you into going to the ER to make sure you don't have pneumonia or a blood clot in your leg. If you do, you will waste six hours of your already exhausted, painful evening being treated rudely, ignored, not given proper attention or pain killers, being ridiculed/not believed about your chronic illness, and being told after they FINALY gave you the bare minimum pain killers, too late, BTW, being you shouldn't drive yourself home. After spending hours in agony so much so that you are literally crying in pain, at 1:30 AM, you will be told to go home, take cough syrup and use a humidifier. This by the way after they ahve not given you the extra blanket you asked for or the water they told you you needed FIVE HOURS AGO.
Because your body metabolizes painkillers quickly, you'll drive yourself home quite safely, thus at least saving, what, $30 on cab fare? You'll write 3000 words because you are so pissed off at the clown-quality of care you received, and find yourself wishing, one more time, that you lived in just about any other first world country because, no matter how bad the care is there, the delivery is gonna be far better than here. With or without health insurance. We might have the capability for high quality health care in the US, but the average person will not get it.
End of note.

Oh, no! I'm lagging behind...
The wife took a sick day today. Nothing major, just a flippy stomach and a need to have a mental break. So she's determined to do nothing but snuggle with the kid all day. Maybe I can hide in the basement and write, then...

Taking two days off has left me a bit behind! Oh, well, I should hopefully catch up today. Although I've been pushing off the homework for my online Women Across Cultures Class (Where I'm the only guy) and I just looked at the assignment. It's double a normal week, and due at midnight tonight. Joy. So that's what I shall be doing after class today! But I can churn out 3,000 words at two write-ins tonight, right? Okay, if you've actually been to a write-in with me you can stop laughing, I know I'm not that productive!

But seriously, I'm not behind due to procrastination, there has been some medical stuff in the family that has been prioritized over NaNo. This weekend, though, now that things are OK, I will be doing some major make-up writing. Can't wait to get to a write-in or two and get back on track.

I've got some serious catching up to do.
Time to open a "Write or Die" window while my user database here at work crashes and burns...
And I'm hoping to attend a write-in this weekend! My insanely cute roommate keeps distracting me and tuckering me out so that I haven't been going to any! That, and she's super-cuddly and we occasionally share naps. Write-in, or napping with a baby on you? If that doesn't 'splain where I've been, I don't know what can.

Oh no. The furthest behind title definitely belongs to me!
The measly number of words i have written are not even where i can access them, so not sure what I am going to write tonight.
BUT I have purchased and taken delivery of a truck, while promising my first-born son to the bank (they didn't want him, so I have to pay cash instead...) That drama is now over, I have reasonable transportation and I am ready to write. Woo Hoo!

I have two papers to write this weekend on top of NaNo... But someone is buying me lunch today, so life is good.
