In the wake of .Doc and ShirtNinja's epic Nose vs. Mouth battle of NaNo '08, we have decided to have another one!
At the Holiday Write-In on the 11th, .Doc and I will be having a Foot Battle, and would like to extend the invitation to all of our WriMos to participate in our Hands-Off Word War!
The word war must be completed WITHOUT the use of your hands! Elbows, toes, and nose are fair game, as well as clutching a pen or pencil in your mouth to write 'by hand', or do like the Drinking Bird and use that mouth-held stick-like object to jab at your keyboard and make words appear!
Also! The wrimo with the longest word count from the Hands-Off challenge can win an AWESOME prize! There's only one like it this NaNo! I won't let it slip, but when you get to the event, you'll KNOW.
Feel free to join us! We're all going to be there anyway!

Speaking of that epic battle, I cannot for the life of me find the recording. If anyone out there has a copy or a recording of their own, PLEASE host it.

Question: Does using a microphone and voice recognition/transcription software count as cheating? :-p

You can do that, but you still have to hold a pen in your mouth while you talk.

A little bit. I know that the disabled do use those things, but it does give you an advantage over those using their remaining limbs.

We had four whole entrants!
Congratulations to Alfvaen, who won by a nose! (Pun is very much intended.)
I hope your kids don't rip poor Sully to shreds on the first day. :3

I was going to post the winning 33-word opus, but apparently I saved it to the laptop instead of my USB drive, so it will take a day or two for me to get around to.
Jinian (at 1.75 years) is quite taken with Sully, who is about her size. (How old is Boo supposed to be? Jinian is probably close to her language level, at least.) I have made it clear to the older boys, though, that Sully is MINE. So we'll see how that works out.

Okay, here's what I wrote with my nose:
Looks a little Dutch, but I think it's mostly comprehensible.
