I need a really good name for a trendy bar in the downtown section of a big city. I live in a smallish city; our bars have names like Le Chat Noir, The Village Inn, and Rumours. I need a good one.

It seems a trend in Las Vegas and the sort is to give them vague one word names like "Water" "Eau" "Tao" Maybe you could search "Hot nightspots in NY" or whatever city and get a clue there. Good luck

I've always wanted to use this in a story but I'll share it here. I lived in the Philippines for a few years and there was a bar right outside the base that was named "My Office." I always thought that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

"Where are you honey?"

"I'll be late, gotta hit My Office before I head home."

Here are a few. I'm from New Orleans, so this is my specialty. :)

1) The Bad Years.

2) Stella! (This is an upscale bar, and they have a down-home lunch place called Stanley! Like Stella and Stanley from A Street Car Named Desire)

3) Le Vieux Carre

4) The Dungeon (Dingy college bar)

..... There are a lot more, these are just a couple off the top of my head.

I saw one in a small town that was called the Dew Drop Inn.

And I second The Library. There's one of those in LaCrosse, WI with "If Mom calls, tell her I'm at the library." written on the awning.
