His father is 6'3" but his mother is only 5'4". He is going to take after his dad in the height department. What would be a good above average height and shoe size for this kid?

Right now I have him at 5' and his shoe size an 8. Is this above average?

TIA!

When my son was 8, he was a small shrimp of a boy, he stayed that way until puberty and then seemed to grow at an astounding rate. In Year six (aged 10) he was around the same size as my now aged 8 year old daughter. Now, four years later, he is 6'1 with a size 10 shoe. I am 5'4 and my sons father is 6'4.

My 8 year old is tall for her age, she's on the 75th percentile. She's 4'4" tall with a size 3 foot (these are UK sizes, you'll have to find a conversion chart}

so, brief, you'd be best looking at a percentile growth chart, finding the adult height and then following the line down to aged 8, but as I realised, it doesn't always work that way in real life. My son was predicted to be about 5'9 - 5'11. Obviously my son didn't read the chart!

Thanks for the info. I was predicted to be 6 foot. I'm 5'4" (and a woman). I never did meet those expectations. :)

I have a six year old daughter (whose father is 6'1" (I'm five foot six) who is already 5' in her socks.

I would suggest making him at least five foot two. Five foot four would really raise some eyebrows, but there's an actual risk he'd need hand-tailored clothes. At 5' and a size 8 in girls' (with size 12 leg length), my daughter has to have hand-tailored jeans. We have to buy shirts in sizes 14 and 16 to reach the tops of her thighs (I prefer her clothes to be very modest, as she's at risk from most pedophiles, and also, she has a lower-functioning autism, which also makes her a victim if she's left alone.)

That said, at 5', Adia's shoe size is 2. Your boy's would be a 3 or a 3.5. He would be pretty close to 100th percentile there: Adia is 97th.

Is pretty useful for working out realistic heights and weights for boys. there's one for girls knocking around somewhere too, but I forget where.

My son is 7 years and 4 months old and in the 2nd grade. He is the tallest boy in his class.

He wears a size 4 shoe and is 4 feet 3 inches tall - barefooted. He weighs 72 pounds. He is a very athletic boy - plays basketball, baseball, and football.

I just made him go measure on the wall for you!!! Ahh the questions that brought about from him!

Hope that helps!

BTW... my son's grandfather on his dad's side was Captain of the Oklahoma State Cowboys Basketball team so he is really tall... I am not sure exactly how tall... sorry. But I do know that grandpa had 4 sons- 3 of them are about 6"4' I would guess and my husband had a different mom than they did and his mom was only 5ft 3 inches so he missed out on that height gene and is only 5'9" !!!

And my dad is well over 6 feet, too. I'm a woman and I stand 5 feet 11 inches.

Thought that last part might help a little. Sorry if you didn't want the whole family history!

Can I just ask what's meant by "she has a lower-functioning autism, which also makes her a victim if she's left alone"? Aren't Auties rather famous for, you know... doing better all by their lonesome?
