At last, I reach it in my unknown, slightly lovetale, horror, supernatural NaNo :]
I'm going to get to 15k today, maybe even 17k. I have high ambitions for this part of my novel.

Ack! Made it! 10K + 2, at the moment. I'd love to do another 3K-5K today, but have a birthday party to go to first, so may not be able to go that far. And I'm at a part of my novel that is a little slow to build. Just introduced the second MC, who needs a bit of explanation.

But on the other hand, at this very stopping point, I could be heading into some fun Faustian/Dante-ish journeys for my two MCs. And I have much of an evening tomorrow to spend on it, along with at least a few hours after the party. I can do another 3K-5K tonight, right?

Of course, I have to figure out how to weave in my various little subplots, introduce my antagonist (who has barely even been hinted at yet... at this point, we're wondering if the second MC is the antagonist, but... well, he'll seem like it, but isn't. And I have to keep the main plot line going, and accomplish all this while not getting too conversational and keeping it grounded in action.

But what the h-e-double-hockey-sticks--I made it to 10K!

Just hit 10k!

And I did the bulk of it this weekend, too. I am extremely busy during the weekdays.

Woop! I know I'm way behind, but I feel like this was about the pace I was on last year and I won. I also remember that getting to 10K gave me a sense that I could get this thing done. Like hey this could actually turn into a novel and not just a bunch of ramblings.

Congrats to all those who've made it this far! Get psyched and keep going!

Jake

Cracked the 10K mark just now, hitting 11575! I'm catching up on writing I should have been doing the last two days, so I'm hoping to hit the 15K mark before going to bed tonight. Only about 500 words away from what I thought would be impossible to achieve. Yay!!! XD

I hit 10k today!! Not only does it feel great to hit that mark, but it is also reassuring to know that I am not the only one who is hitting it several days late.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

It felt like pulling teeth until late last night, when a new character introduced herself as a ghost who demands vengeance. Awesome. Hope that ghostly momentum keeps me going through tomorrow, I still have hopes of hitting 15K on schedule...

Just reached 10,629 words. I don't think I've ever written so much for one story in my life! This is my first attempt at this, and even though so far it's absolutely boring dribble (up until, eh, 3-4,000 words ago) I'm glad I started this. Five more of this? I can do it. I just hope I don't get TOO distracted in the middle of this month, the 18th is my birthday and this weekend's going to be a huge distraction. Cheers!

HOORAY! After being several thousand words behind and considering giving up for a fourth year in a row, I instead decided to just write 1900 words a day and catch up gradually. Just hit ten thousand, and now I really feel like I'm in it to win it. My story is starting to feel like an actual story at last, instead of a few awkwardly linked paragraphs. My 10,000th word was "who", which is pretty fitting considering it's the first word of the title.
