Anyone else have this problem? Every year, around 30k, i deflate.

It doesn't help that my as-yet unseen antagonist may turn out to be global warming. (insert here all the words i'd type if this weren't an all-ages forum.)

I think that's just an extended version of the terrible two weeks. Don't you get your perk back up at 35K?

It sounds like your novel needs a visit from Captain Planet....

(and yes, I find the first 30k are the most fun to write. After that it pretty much all goes downhill for me)

Yup.... and then I decided to have a scene where the zombies were in a disco, and somehow having zombies grooving to Disco Inferno really fixed my doldrums.

I second the Captain Planet visitation. Except of course... not like the Captain Planet visitation that cornbread had in her novel of two years ago. Or if it IS like that, go ahead and don't tell us all the gory details. Hehe.

Captain Planet! He's a hero... (and however else that theme song went)

Umm, never mind. A couple of weeks ago, I actually visited YouTube for some Captain Planet nostalgia; the clips were hilarious. The cartoons of those days - it made me wonder how did I survive that childhood?

Anyway, I'm also fighting boredom with my story. After finally having a murder victim, I'm not actually sure what's next, and minor bickering among the characters aren't making things all that interesting. Well, must mush on and keep writing something.

The truly sad thing is that, with the global warming thing, captain planet would almost fit. I'm not quite ready to consign the whole novel to the trash heap though, and there's no way Mr. Planet could figure in while the novel still has some integrity.

It's rough, isn't it? I never know why the pep talk emails from HQ say that week two is the slow point.

I'm still faking it. My story is totally derailed. But i'm getting words on paper, and that's what counts.

As this is my first year passing 30,000 I wouldn't have expected for it to be hard by this point. Then it happened. I'm in the 30,000 club and I'm looking at my numbers, looking at my story and feeling rather good about it all. That's when it hit. I have story beyond this, which for days have been doing the "Texas two step" in the file. I keep moving it down to write the stuff that gets us there and now I'm stumped. How do I write more till I get there? It hasn't helped that I've been fielding calls that were unexpected and running an errand or two. All of which have cut into my second day of 30,000. I just started actual writing after 5PM and I know I have things to do tonight that will keep me AFK> I have less than an hour to write 500 more words and where am I? I'm in this forum responding to a post. LOL

Happy writing all and to all a good night!
